Electrolyte Drink Recipe

When your child is sick, your health care provider may recommend an electrolyte replacement drink

like Pedialyte or Gatorade. This alternative recipe can be made at home for less money and you can
choose to avoid ingredients like dyes that groups have asked the FDA to ban (red 40 and Blue 1 are in
Pedialyte liquid and Red 40, Blue 1, Yellow 6 are in the Pedialyte popsicles).

Ingredients:
O 2 quarts water
O 2 tablespoons sugar
O 1 teaspoon baking soda
O 1/2 teaspoon salt substitute (made with potassium chloride)
O 1/2 teaspoon salt
O 1 package Kool-Aid or other flavoring (optional) OR
O 2 teaspoons vanilla (or other) extract
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate. Use the mix within 4 days.
This can also be frozen into popsicles.

Ingredients
1 liter of water
1/2 tsp of baking soda
2 tbsp of agave nectar
1/2 tbsp of sea salt

Combine all ingredients in water bottle and sip during workout as needed

TROT DRINK
Ingredients
1 quart boiled water
2 tablesoons honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
1. Mix ingredients.
2. Can be kept in refrigerator for 24 hours, and then a new batch should be made.

TIIngs You'II Need:
O 1/2 tsp. baking soda
O 1/2 tsp. table salt (or sea salt)
O 3 to 4 tbsp. sugar substitute
O 1 quart water
O Sugar-free flavoring
Add baking soda, salt and sugar substitute to the bottom of a clean, dry pitcher.

Cover the ingredients with a small amount of water and, using a whisk. mix
vigorously until the ingredients are dissolved.

Add the remaining water as well as the flavoring of your choice. Stir the mixture until
the flavoring is well combined and refrigerate.

1. 1 Mix all the ingredients except gingerale or coke.
2. 2 When ready to drink, mix 1 ounce of electrolyte with 1 ounce of gingerale or coke.
3. 3 Give this every hour for up to 10 to 12 doses per day.
4. 4 Keep unused portion refrigerated. Keep gingerale or coke at room temperature.
