jSecure Authentication
This allows you to change the Administrator URL thereby reducing the likelihood of someone finding
your Administrator page and trying to hack into it. E.g. the normal Administrator login is www.yourdomain.com/administrator. This extension allows you to add a string such as www.yourdomain.com/administrator/?chocolate.
This was free but it is now commercial. At $4.99 it is a worthwhile investment.

Although each Joomla page includes an RSS feed, you often need greater control over the content

CONTENT CONSTRUCTION
Content Construction Kits (CCK) for Joomla have been around for a while but they gained in
popularity with the release of the following extensions. A CCK allows you to create your own
document type. So instead of a standard Joomla article that only includes a title and content, you
can specify your own database fields such as name, address, phone etc. Or a catalog. Or a blog. Or
whatever you can imagine.
K2
Everyone has been waiting to see which of the CCKs would become the winner and although there is
no clear winner, K2 by JoomlaWorks appears to be the most popular.

Zoo
Although the CCKs provide great flexibility, they have a steep learning curve. Zoo is easier to learn
so it is a good choice for beginners.

CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Mass Content
Allows you to enter multiple articles at once, thereby saving time. This has been one of Joomlas
most handy extensions but recently the developers website has disappeared. Its not a good idea to
use an extension that is no longer being developed, but this one is so handy that I will include it on
this list (until I get a chance to review alternatives see
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-production/mass-content). Someone has been kind
enough to include this file on the Joomla forums but you will need an account and be logged in to
download it.

COMMENTS
Disqus
Disqus is a third party application that allows visitors to leave comments about your articles. This
