The annual red carpet event honors supreme talent from the world of performing arts, visual arts and music. This years list was compiled from hundreds of public nominations submitted online during the open ballot session at oea-awards.com. Hancock & Dana, one of Omahas largest locally- owned accounting firms, tallied the top five nominations in each category. A few names, such as visual artist Tim Guthrie, appear more than once on the nominee list. This year, Guthrie was nominated three times, and is a hopeful in the Best Visual Artist, Best 2-D Visual Artist and Best New Media Visual Artist categories. This is crazy, I've never had so many nominations, Guthrie said. I don't know what to say. I'm flabbergasted. Embarrassed, but honored.
