Operational Considerations
The following section provides the user with operational considerations for the FTB-860 NetBlazer Series test
modules. This section specifically includes a title for the consideration and a brief description along with any
workaround or fix if available.

ETHERNET

1. Cable Test:
Reference: !D-37+15

Description
Running cable test when Auto-Negotiation is disabled and Cable mode is manual may cause incorrect
results.

Workaround:
Cable test should be run with Auto-Negotiation enabled, and Cable mode set to Auto Detect.

2. Online help:
Reference: !D-37+07

Description
!t has been found that some characters and descriptions in the online help have not been completely
translated into Chinese

Workaround:
None

3. General:
Reference: !D-37397

Description
Starting up the FTB-860X module while having an explorer window open will prevent the FTB-860X module
from starting.

Workaround:
Nake sure there is no explorer window open before starting FTB-860X module

4. Report:
Reference: !D-3738+

Description
The legend that describes the Local to Remote and Remote to Local directions does not show up in a PDF
generated report.

Workaround:
None

5. Report:
Reference: !D-37375

Description
When setting an inverted BERT pattern the generated report will not show the PRBS pattern

Workaround:
None

6. Remote loopback:
Reference: !D-373+7

Description
After looping down a remote device the local unit's NAC address resolution will be unchecked in the BERT
and Traffic Generation tests.

Workaround
Nanually re-check the NAC address resolution if a new destination !P address is entered

7. Traffic Generation:
Reference: !D-37332

Description
Packet jitter results are rounded up on the summary page.

Workaround
Full packet jitter results can be found on the QoS metrics results page.

S. Report
Reference: !D-37225

Description
When generating a report after performing an RFC 25++ Bi-Directional test the Latency passfFail results
appear underneath the Local to Remote column.

Workaround:
None at this moment, the latency result in the report should show Round-trip instead of Local to Remote

9. Traffic Generation
Reference: !D-37215

Description
When disabling Packet jitter from the QoS Netrics setup page, the Profile drop down box on the Stream
profile page is greyed out.

Workaround
Re-enable Packet Jitter so that the Profile drop down box is available.

11. Suspend and Resume
Reference: !D-37+57

Description
On rare occasions after a suspend and resume procedure it is possible that the 10 GigE WAN interface will
not be able to achieve a link up status.

Workaround
Turn the laser off and then back on, the 10 GigE WAN interface will be able to achieve a Link up status

12. ToSJDS Config
Reference: !D-36797

Description
When choosing hex values in the ToSfDS configuration box the mode does not change from binary to hex.

Workaround
None

13. ToSJDS Config
