CONTENTS This release note consists of the following topics: Release Summary Operational Considerations Technical Support o Website Support o Contact !nformation RELEASE SUMMARY
This release introduces the following FTB-860 NetBlazer series features:
Ethernet testing (available on the FTB-860f860G)
1. RFC-25++ !ndependent RFC 25++ results for each direction ThroughputfBack to backfFrame Loss Both directions tested simultaneously as per RFC 25++ standard Dual test set incorporated into the remote loopback functionality Detect and connect to any other EXFO product from the datacom portfolio using Dual Test Set Simplified operation for Dual Test Set Quick ping Alarms and Errors
2. Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) Both directions tested simultaneously or Uni-directional PRBS pattern generation Service Disruption measurements (SDT) Event logger Quick ping Alarms and Errors
3. Traffic Generation 8 Nonitoring Nain stream offers Throughput, packet jitter, Latency, Frame loss and Sequencing results On the fly bandwidth and Frame size adjustment (Frame size adjustment on Ethernet only) 9 Background independent streams Event logger Quick ping Alarms and Errors +. Through Node

This section specifically includes a title for the consideration and a brief description along with any workaround or fix if available.
ETHERNET
1. Cable Test: Reference: !D-37+15
Description Running cable test when Auto-Negotiation is disabled and Cable mode is manual may cause incorrect results.
Workaround: Cable test should be run with Auto-Negotiation enabled, and Cable mode set to Auto Detect.
2. Online help: Reference: !D-37+07
Description !t has been found that some characters and descriptions in the online help have not been completely translated into Chinese
Workaround: None
3. General: Reference: !D-37397
Description Starting up the FTB-860X module while having an explorer window open will prevent the FTB-860X module from starting.
Workaround: Nake sure there is no explorer window open before starting FTB-860X module
4. Report: Reference: !D-3738+
Description The legend that describes the Local to Remote and Remote to Local directions does not show up in a PDF generated report.
Workaround: None

Description When setting an inverted BERT pattern the generated report will not show the PRBS pattern
Workaround: None
6. Remote loopback: Reference: !D-373+7
Description After looping down a remote device the local unit's NAC address resolution will be unchecked in the BERT and Traffic Generation tests.
Workaround Nanually re-check the NAC address resolution if a new destination !P address is entered
7. Traffic Generation: Reference: !D-37332
Description Packet jitter results are rounded up on the summary page.
Workaround Full packet jitter results can be found on the QoS metrics results page.
S. Report Reference: !D-37225
Description When generating a report after performing an RFC 25++ Bi-Directional test the Latency passfFail results appear underneath the Local to Remote column.
Workaround: None at this moment, the latency result in the report should show Round-trip instead of Local to Remote
9. Traffic Generation Reference: !D-37215
Description When disabling Packet jitter from the QoS Netrics setup page, the Profile drop down box on the Stream profile page is greyed out.
Workaround Re-enable Packet Jitter so that the Profile drop down box is available.

Description On rare occasions it is possible that when selecting a new test application that the focus of the NetBlazer GU! drops to the Nini Toolbox.
Workaround No workaround, this momentary return to the mini toolbox will last approximately one second.
11. Suspend and Resume Reference: !D-37+57
Description On rare occasions after a suspend and resume procedure it is possible that the 10 GigE WAN interface will not be able to achieve a link up status.
Workaround Turn the laser off and then back on, the 10 GigE WAN interface will be able to achieve a Link up status
12. ToSJDS Config Reference: !D-36797
Description When choosing hex values in the ToSfDS configuration box the mode does not change from binary to hex.
Workaround None
13. ToSJDS Config Reference: !D-36797
Description When choosing hex values in the ToSfDS configuration box the mode does not change from binary to hex.
Workaround None
14. General Reference: !D-37003
Description On rare occasions when choosing an optical interface it is possible to see an Electrical interface with its amber duplex LED dimly illuminated.
Workaround None
