What is the difference between Cardiac Arrests and
Heart Attacks?
Many people confuse the terms "Heart Attack" and "Cardiac Arrest," but
it is important to understand that these are two distinct conditions. A
Heart Attack occurs when one of the coronary arteries becomes
blocked, resulting in reduced blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart
muscle. While prompt medical attention is necessary for a heart attack,
it does not always lead to cardiac arrest. On the other hand, Cardiac
Arrest is a sudden stoppage of the heart's beating, which results in loss
of consciousness and cessation of blood flow. In cases of cardiac arrest,
immediate CPR is essential to restore blood circulation and breathing. It
is essential to realize that while a Heart Attack may lead to Cardiac
Arrest, they are not the same thing.
Famous people who had a Cardiac Arrest:
● Micheal Jackson
● Mother Teresa
● Bronny James
Famous people who had a Heart Attack:
● Larry Bird
● Jerry West
● Bill Clinton
Abstract:
Our project is about the differences between Cardiac Arrests and Heart
Attacks. Cardiac Arrests happen when the heart suddenly and
unexpectedly stops pumping. Heart Attacks happen when an artery that
sends blood and oxygen gets blocked. We explained how Cardiac Arrests
and Heart Attacks happen and how to prevent them. We wrote down
symptoms for each, wrote what to do if we experienced either of these
and took a survey about the topic.
Conclusion:
So now you hopefully know the differences between Cardiac Arrest and
Heart Attacks. You should know what to do, the differences, how to
prevent them, and the causes.
Ways to prevent most heart diseases:
1. Don’t smoke or use tobacco
2. Be active
3. Eat a healthy diet
4. Have a healthy weight
5. Get good sleep
6. Manage Stress
7. Prevent all infection
8. Make sure to keep your blood pressure in check
9. Don’t overeat cholesterol
Other Major Heart Diseases
Some other major heart diseases include Angina (chest pain due to
reduced blood flow to the heart), Stroke (when the heart isn’t pumping
blood to the brain), and Heart Failure (when the heart muscle doesn’t
pump blood as well as it should).
Survey:
We surveyed what people think compared to the truth about these
diseases.
