1. The DFM Group of Companies

a. The DFM Group of companies is a leader in the food processing

industry of North India with over 90 years of experience. Group turnover for the Financial Year 2010 -11 is Rs 370 Cr. There are two established areas of business: i. Flour Milling (Delhi Flour Mills Co. Ltd) ii. Snack Foods (DFM Foods Ltd.) b. Flour Milling
i. The business dates back to 1917 and was amongst the first in

India. The company owns and operates the single largest flour mill in the country at Delhi. Plans are underway to set up another mill in Greater NOIDA.
ii. It is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of all principal

wheat products that include Whole Wheat Atta, Flour (Maida) and Semolina (Rava & Suji), all of which are sold through an extensive distribution network. Marketed under the Kanak and STAG brand names, these products are sold in bulk as well as in consumer packs to industrial users and retail consumers respectively.
iii. The business is rapidly expanding its distribution network to new

locations outside Delhi NCR. iv. The company has developed a unique and effective system of wheat procurement, primarily from U.P. This system is being expanded to cater to the increasing demand arising out of distribution expansion.

c. Snack Foods i. The Snack Foods Business was founded in 1983. It pioneered the entry of packaged snacks in the Indian market with the introduction of Crax Corn Rings. ii. The product range today comprises of: Extruded snacks under the Crax and Natkhat brand names Indian Namkeens comprising 12 different products including Bhujiyas, Daals, Mixtures and Nut-Mixes

iii. Sales have been growing at a compounded annual growth rate

of over 40% of the last five years with a turn over of Rs 120 Cr for the year 2010-11. Further, sales are being targeted at Rs. 200 Cr for the current year. iv. The Companys corporate office is located at Delhi, while its processing facility which makes use of state of the art manufacturing equipment from across the globe is located at Ghaziabad. The company is now planning to set up another such facility in Greater Noida. v. The company has established an effective distribution system covering most of North India. Expansion into the Western Region is a major thrust area at present. vi. Sustaining high growth rates is a key priority of the business to be achieved through innovative marketing, new product development and geographical expansion. d. Ownership and Management
i. DFM Foods Ltd. is a publicly quoted company listed on the

BSE. Delhi Flour Mills is listed on the Delhi Stock Exchange.


ii. The business is headed by Mr. Mohit Jain, Managing Director

and his two sons, Rohan and Rashad Jain. The family is involved in strategic decision making at the corporate level while the businesses are run by competent and experienced professionals.
