o, a 15 year-old girl that somehow managed to enter the 18 year old class, Marcela Serra. There is something odd about her that catches the eye of his new classmate Samuel Morales, and he thinks it has nothing to do with her gray eyes or her lack of interest in anything around her except for this strange book she is always carrying around. Samuel will soon find out her secret, as Marcela is a witch, or a novice enchantress as she puts it. Not only that, but she is haunted by a mean spirit also called Marcela. The strange book happens to be the source of her powers which mostly include enchanting people with charms or curses. A terrible series of experiences on her past leads her to believe that all men will be mean to her and so she casts them away, even though she still has hope of finding someone to trust. On the fateful morning in which this story starts, Samuel steals her book in orders to call her attention; wrathful, Marcela casts a delayed shrinking charm on Samuel under the direction of the mean spirit. Upon realizing what she has done she leaves the classroom very upset. Samuel tries to follow her to explain what happened but he begins to shrink while looking for her. Marcela, now convinced by spirit Marcela that Samuel was in fact trying to hurt her, finds Samuel and tells him that the only way for him to regain his normal size is to return to the place where the spell was cast, the classroom, which now lies on the opposite end of the school. She also casts an invisibility spell on him, which will only render him visible to the people that he calls by their name, or to the person that says his name within his earshot. During this very tortuous day, where Samuel faced death in many forms, including almost being drown in the sea that the pool has become, or being stepped on by his classmates, he overhears many things. Secrets spoken out about his friends and enemies, and finally, that the newest teacher, Mr. Thorn is a treacherous warlock and is currently trying to get his hands on Marcelas book, which may end in her getting hurt. After trying to break his charm and surviving Mr. Thorns pets, a trio of devilish crows sent by the warlock to find him. Samuel now must decide whether to act on the secrets heard or trying to warn Marcela of her impending doom despite the constant efforts of spirit Marcela to silence him, not knowing the real reason he wants to speak to her.
