The Purpose of magnetic Stirrer for us is mixing as well as aeration in Lab Trials. The Considerations on other equipments is listed below. 1. Magnetic Stirrer : Of course, it will be good ahead of all mixing equipments, but still owns some hurdles to us. Mainly, Price. The Indian Brands are available at reasonable price but weight/dimension/visual appeals are the issues. Compact sizes with low weight are available with Top-Suppliers at a hefty price. Apart from pricing, few other issues are that it will be too fast in start up. The Shear in culture is likely, due to this. However, speed regulator can help. Only thing, we should have high capacity aerators for efficient current & oxygen uptake. But, when going to Bigger Companies with superior lab set up, it may look odd there. But, domestically for small or medium size companies this can be preferred. 3. Over Head Stirrer: Stirrer is top-mounted, supported by clamp & has a motorized unit. The Key benefits will be a good mixing, even for high viscous solution and getting a radial flow. But, the setup is time consuming, more space requirement makes it to not to consider, even before looking the pricing.

4. Shakers: Useful for mixing small volumes of liquid, like our case. Laboratory shakers tend to agitate the solutions either in forward & backward motion / orbital motion which creates a vortex effect within the solution. The swirling action achieved with an orbital shaker is perfect for gentle mixing or aeration. Even though Handy Shakers available in markets compare to price& weight with magnetic stirrer, it is ruled out. 5. Spinner Flasks/Stirrer Bottles / Baffled Flasks: Specifically designed for efficient mixing in suspension cell culture Like in biological tank, for Lab scale experiments these are preferred .But seeing the cost implication, these are not considered.

Overall, we can consider using Aquarium pumps/Fish tank aerators for Small/Medium Segment Companies. For Heavy Segment Companies, We can Consider Multipoint magnetic stirrer.
