FLORIDA FISH AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION COMMISSION (FWC) BIOLOGICAL ADMINISTRATOR III DEC 2010-PRESENT Assistant Section Leader, Habitat Conservation Scientific Services and Conservat ion Planning Services This position serves a central role in the Conservation Planning Services functi on of the Agency. It has direct management responsibility for tracking, deliver y, and quality assurance of regulatory technical assistance to partner agencies and their customers, across Divisions and Offices of the Agency. It develops wo rk plan priorities for the Land Use Planning sub-section, which specializes in t echnical assistance to proposals with the potential for landscape scale land use and management changes and consists of 13 staff members distributed throughout the state. Lastly, it assists the Division in annual work plan development, rep orting and issue response. Agency Commenting and Land Use Planning Technical Assistance, Habitat Conservati on Scientific Services Section The sub-section delivers technical assistance to regulated land use planning act ivities that may impact on fish and wildlife resources in general and could prov ide opportunities to conserve or restore wildlife habitat at the landscape scale . Its work plan focuses on large scale activities such as local government Comp rehensive Planning, which includes Rural Land Stewardship Plans, Sector Plans, a nd Developments of Regional Impact, and power infrastructure projects. Additiona lly it helps to coordinate the agencys role in water development planning, parti cularly Minimum Flows and Levels. The Sub-Section Leaders responsibilities inclu de: Supervising development of and updates to the Florida Wildlife Conservation Gui de Supervising Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and analysis support t o clients internal to the agency Delivering collaborative technical assistance consistent with Agency Policies, Positions and Guidelines Providing leadership to collaborative processes involving stakeholders, partner s and subject matter experts Managing a 150-acre facility that supports staff from multiple sections of the Division Managing eight staff positions including one Biological Administrator II, four Biological Scientist IVs, one staff assistant and two GIS technicians Accomplishments and other activities: Established expert witness credentials in the topics of wildlife ecology and age ncy technical assistance procedures for administrative law hearings in 2010 The subsection was named Scientific Team of the Year for the year 2009-2010 by t

Mentored the project team leaders through the development of the vision/scope for the Gui de, and continue to ensure ongoing production of the Guide. Two members of the s ubsection led the stakeholder-driven collaborative team that finalized and appro ved the Florida Wildlife Conservation Guide; this team was recognized as the Div ision of Habitat and Species Conservations Scientific Team of the Year for 20072008. Team Member, FWC Agency Commenting Process Improvement Team: March 2008-June 201 0. The final products for this group included refinement of the activity process , playbooks for related activities, and an implementation schedule. My current p osition as Assistant Section Leader for Conservation Planning Services is a seni or leadership role for the implementation of this process.
