Research Summary
Present Research Work
Presently, I am working on isolation and characterization of chemical cobstituents from
Cameronian medicinal plant, Vernonia conferta (Asteraceae) in the way to evaluate their
anticancer activity and predict their possible mechanism of action by molecular docking
techniques.
Ph.D. work
The aim of my Ph.D. work was the research of chemical constituents of a
Cameroonian medicinal plant: Caloncoba glauca (Achariaceae) and the evaluation of
it cardiotonic activity on isolated frog’s heart. For this study, I have isolated and
characterized 22 phytochemical constituents of C. glauca using chromatography,
NMR and Mass spectroscopy techniques. Moreover, I carried out cardiotonic assay of
some components on isolated frog’s heart.
Technical Proficiency
Pharmacology and Toxicology: Pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamics and
toxicity evaluation of natural and synthetic compounds in vivo
Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Structure - Activity Relation studying techniques
of chemical substances
Phytochemistry: Extraction and isolation and structure elucidation of
chemical substances from plants
Analytical Chemistry: Characterization of synthetic and natural chemical
components using UV-Vis Photometer, HPLC, NMR and Mass spectroscopy
Organic Synthesis: Hemi-Synthesis of chemical substances
