REPORT OF FACTORY VISIT OF ADEX CORPORATION:

DATE: 16.01.2012

During the visit of factory of ADEX CORPORATION(with our consultant Mr. Ekhlaas Sayeed) we have the following observationsORIGIN OF CIRCUIT BREAKERS: In the final offer of ADEX Corporation they agreed to supply us the CB s of European Origin with imported documents & they agreed to supply us MERLIN GERIN/SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, FRANCE. But practically we observed that they used CB s of SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, assembled in Singapore. This is a clear violation of their offer-PLEASE DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH THEM. PHASE SEPERATOR: There is no phase separator found in any of the circuit breakers. This is a must for safety. Vendor should use spring washer in place of normal washer in circuit breakers.- WE PROVIDED NECESESSARY INSTRUCTIONS TO ADEX DURING FACTORY VISIT BUS-BAR INSULATOR: Vendor should use an insulator plate in front of the bus-bar chamber as per our instruction. They should use standard bus-bar tapping as instructed by our consultant.- .- WE PROVIDED NECESESSARY INSTRUCTIONS TO ADEX DURING FACTORY VISIT IDENTIFICATION: There should be proper identification for each & every panel board. Identification should be as followsE-01 LT PANEL CUM CHANGEOVER SWITCH E-02 800A DISTRIBUTION PANEL BOARD FOR 500KVA GENERATOR E-03 1000A DISTRIBUTION PANEL BOARD FOR 652KVA GENERATOR E-04 630A MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANEL BOARD (MDB-1) E-05 800A MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANEL BOARD (MDB-2) E-06 1000A MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANEL BOARD (MDB-3) .- WE PROVIDED NECESESSARY INSTRUCTIONS TO ADEX DURING FACTORY VISIT EARTHING BUS-BAR: Position of earthing bus-bar should be changed as instructed by consultant- .- WE PROVIDED NECESESSARY INSTRUCTIONS TO ADEX DURING FACTORY VISIT INTERNAL CABLE: All internal cable (NYY, BYA or flexible cable) should be from either EASTERN Cable/BRB Cable. Vendor uses RR cable which is not acceptable- PLEASE INFORM ADEX OFFICIALLY..

SEALING ARRANGEMENT OF PANEL BOARD: Sealing arrangement of the panel board doors were not maintained properly. Every door of the panel board should be gasketed.- IT IS NOT UNDERSTOOD BY ME. AT CABLE ENTRY AND EXIT gaskets ARE REQUIRED ONLY. LOCK: In our guideline (Supplied by consultant) it is clearly mentioned that Distribution panel board shall be provided with hinged doors fitted with cylinder type locks and shall be supplied with 3 keys . This is not maintained. This is not mandatory I think. INCOMING OUTGOING ARRANGEMENT OF CABLES: In our guideline (Supplied by consultant) it is clearly mentioned that- At the cable entry positions removable gland plates shall be provided. Where single core cables enter, an approved non-ferrous gland plate shall be employed with a non-ferrous cable clamp set for restraint of the tails. There shall be a clearance of not less than 25 mm between cable glands and ferrous metal. The said standard is not maintained: During our visit we instruct them about cable entry & exit. COOLING/VENTILATION SYSTEM: During our visit no doors of panel boards were installed. Proper cooling & ventilation should be needed. During our visit we instruct to provide ventilation.
