Sujet: Would you like to spend a year in a foreign country? Justify your point of view with precise examples. Production propose: Students often go abroad for their studies or simply because they have the opportunity to travel and spend a year in a foreign country. We may wonder about the positive aspects but also about the possible drawbacks of living in a different country for one year. It is sometimes difficult to spend a year alone in a new place, especially if we dont speak the foreign language fluently: we can easily get lost. Moreover, Im quite young and Im not sure that would be the right time to go and live abroad, but why not later? Last but not least, I would miss my family. Actually I am very close to my friends and my sister and I would find it hard to leave them behind. However, if I plan to spend a year in London, I would be able to come back very often and my friends could even visit me! Whats more, I think this is a very enriching experience because you meet new people, you can discover a new culture, a new way of life and improve your fluency in the spoken language. Besides, this would permit me to become more independent and autonomous. Indeed, Ill have to pay the bills, to buy food and to cook for instance! As a conclusion, leaving now would be too early for me because Im still young and I dont feel ready to have so many responsibilities. Yet, when I am at university, I intend to spend at least 6 months in a European country.
