1. A slider in a machine moves along a fixed straight rod. Its distance x cm along the
rod is given below for various values of the time t in seconds. Find the velocity
of the slider and its acceleration when t=0.3 second. [Ans: 5.33 cm/sec, -45.6

8. The velocity v (km/min) of a moped which starts from rest, is given at fixed intervals
of time t(min) as follows:

9. A solid of revolution is formed by rotating about x-axis, the area between the x-

Estimate the volume of the solid formed using appropriate Simpson’s rule. [Ans:

Using Weddle’s rule, estimate the area bounded by the curve, the x-axis and the

Also find the amount of error in each formula and compare the results with its actual
value. [Ans: 1.4056 (Actual value)]

compare it with actual solution by direct integration. [Ans: 4.053]

13. A river is 80 feet wide. The depth d in feet at a distance x feet from one bank is
