Oriana Boxer then took the stage and spoke about Mock Interviews. It is an amazing opportunity to gain valuable experience and practice your interviewing skills with recruiters from top accounting Big Four firms, along with finance firms. The first Mock Interview workshop will be on Saturday, February 11 (see page 5). Afterwards, our Treasurer, Katrina Radzko, informed the members about the upcoming fundraising events. The raffle has already begun for the Valentines Day romantic dinner. A three-course meal for two will provided at the very elegant Meat Market restaurant on Lincoln Road, Miami Beach (page 7). Anais Perez, our Secretary, then let the members know about the first community service event which will be on February 18, at the Ronald McDonald House. Anais then passed it on to Daniel Ghanem, our Webmaster, who advised members to register on the ALPFA FIU website to be informed of upcoming job and scholarship opportunities. Afterwards, Marketing Director Edward Delgado took the stage and motivated the members for the Back to School Bash which was right after the meeting at Cadillac Ranch. Our Consulting Officer, Daniel Zamora, and Tessi Brunken then followed with a presentation urging the members to participate in case competitions. Following the meeting, Dawn Lazar from Career Management Services and Ruth McEwen, Director of the School of Accounting, gave a very informative presentation about how to prepare for Ahead of the Game and Career Fair dos and donts. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) then presented about the importance of defining your brand and how that would help with the recruitment process and building your career.
