Dear FIRMA Members, All Property Managers and Administrators,
Recent events, particularly the CoviD-19 Pandemic, is challenging the way we do our work, our
businesses. On top of our commitment “To Keep our Clients (Owners, Tenants, Occupants, Residents)
SAFE AND COMFORTABLE, the situation now calls for selfless sacrifices and fulfillment of our patriotic
duty.
Our industry was born out of crises and with every new crisis, the Property Management industry has
evolved to become even stronger, more responsive and better prepared. We are frontline responders in
this war against an invisible enemy. It is now time to change hats and go from Enhances Safety Mode
into CRISIS MANAGEMENT MODE.
In a couple of days, we will be coming out with FIRMA’s Comprehensive Guidelines & Protocols for
PMs/FMs/Pas/LMs in Combatting the CoVis-19 Threat in our Managed Properties. This is a step-by-
step guide on how to keep our properties Covid-free; what to do in case of confirmed Covid19
case/cases in our building/facility; how to dispose contaminated materials.
For humanitarian reasons, we’ll be asked by government to give rent concessions for one or perhaps
two months to our tenants. We must be ready to explain to our principals the wisdom of such an action.
We will be making representations with relevant national government agencies for an exemption to the
“No work, stay home” rule. In the meantime, go to your respective barangay captains and apply for an
exemption. Kindly explain that the safety of occupants in your managed condominiums, subdivisions,
buildings and facilities will be compromised if we and our staff are prevented from reporting to work.
Meanwhile, may we ask all 259 regular/associate and 725 prospective members to renew your
membership for calendar year 2020. Your contributions will be used obtain resources that will keep our
Institute abreast with International Best Practices, Trainings as well as address administrative costs. You
may apply for/renew your membership thru this link : http://bit.ly/2U8HebL
In the ongoing battle, we will be needing armor (Personal Protective Equipment), weapons (cleaners,
disinfectants, soap) and arsenal (thermal scanners, sprayers, etc). We have made arrangements with
importers, manufacturers of these products and we’ll make them available to members at special prices.
Lastly, let’s pray that our Lord God accompany us in our task ahead, keeping us safe, protecting families,
restoring our nation.
