PLANNING and DESIGNING ASSESSMENTS
Assessment is an ongoing process for ascertaining, understanding,
and improving student learning. Assessment is made up of the
individual components distributed throughout your course–like
assignments, quizzes, exams, and papers–and the ways in which those
components are evaluated.
Assessment is an integral part of instruction, as it determines
whether or not the goals of education are being met. Assessment
affects decisions about grades, placement, advancement, instructional
needs. The first step when designing assessments is to have a clear
understanding of what the learning outcomes are.
Planning and designing assessment, help us teachers measure our
student’s strengths and weaknesses in order for us to have a better
plan for our next teaching objective.

PPST MODULE 11: ITEM ANALYSIS
Item analysis are intended to assess and improve the reliability
of your tests. If test reliability is low, test validity will
necessarily also be low. This is the ultimate reason you do item
analysis to improve the validity of a test by improving its
reliability.
In our LAC session, we learned a lot in making an item analysis.
This analysis helps us teachers examine assessments and figure out if
they're a good measure for testing their students. For example, if a
test is too difficult or too easy for a group of students, then
administering the assessment is a waste of time and doesn't aid us in
the measurement of student learning. In making an assessment we must
consider the four components of an item analysis in which; the item
difficulty, item discrimination, item distractors and response
frequency.

DEVELOPMENTAL PLAN OF PART IV OF THE IPCRF
An IPCRF is an assessment tool to rate teachers for their annual
accomplishments. It is a shared undertaking between the school head
and the teachers that allows an open discussion of course
expectations, key results areas, objectives and how these align to
overall departmental goals.
During our LAC session, we discussed about the Part 4 of the
IPCRF which is the developmental plan, which help us develop wide
range of teaching strategies that enhance critical and creative
thinking, as well as other higher – order thinking skills of the
learners. Professional development programs can enable teachers to
expand their knowledge base in different subject areas. The more
professional development a teacher undergoes, the more knowledge and
industry insight he or she gains
This LAC session help us to understand our strength and
weaknesses as teachers based on our E-SAT result. Through knowing our
weaknesses and strengths, it helps us plan ways to improve our
teaching skills and strategies by having more LAC session and
conducting more trainings.

APPLIED KNOWLEDGE OF CONTENT WITHIN and ACROSS CURRICULUM TEACHING AREAS
(PPST Indicator 1.1.2)
Content knowledge refers to the body of knowledge –facts,
theories, principles, ideas, vocabulary– which teachers must master to
be effective. Teachers should have a deep understanding of the subject
they teach and corresponding curriculum.
To teach all students according to today's standards, teachers
need to understand subject matter deeply and flexibly so they can help
students create useful cognitive maps, relate one idea to another, and
address misconceptions. Teachers need to see how ideas connect across
fields and to everyday life.
During our LAC session, I have gained more knowledge and concepts
to addressed the needs of the students in terms of understanding the
subject deeply. Moreover, it helps us formulate more teaching
strategies including revising our lesson plans in order for us to meet
our objective which is to apply knowledge of content within and across
curriculum teaching.

Literacy and Numeracy Strategies (PPST Module 2)
RPMS PORTFOLIO FOR PROFECIENT TEACHER S.Y. 2022-2023
Literacy and numeracy skills are the foundations of lifelong
learning and full participation in society. These skills empower
students to make meaning, think critically and creatively, and reach
their full potential. Throughout, literacy and numeracy are applied
across all areas of learning.
In our subject which is Science, we applied literary and numeracy
in many ways such as conducting reading interventions, making essays/
reflection about the lesson, in that way their literacy skills,
reading ability and using correct grammar will be enhanced. In
addition, numeracy is always in line with our subject-Science. Giving
students numeracy related problems such as measuring, computing,
solving numeracy related problems broaden their knowledge and
understanding.
In our LAC session, our Master Teacher, impart her knowledge and
expertise in applying literacy and numeracy strategies in teaching.
