General Instructions:
i. This question paper consists of 39 questions in 5 sections.
ii. All questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice is provided in some questions. A student is expected to
attempt only one of these questions.

iv. Section B consists of 6 Very Short questions carrying 02 marks each. Answers to these questions should in the range
of 30 to 50 words.
v. Section C consists of 7 Short Answer type questions carrying 03 marks each. Answers to these questions should in the
range of 50 to 80 words
vi. Section D consists of 3 Long Answer type questions carrying 05 marks each. Answer to these questions should be in
the range of 80 to 120 words.

of the object from the lens is 30 cm. Find the position, nature and size of the image formed.
(b) Draw a labelled ray diagram showing object distance, image distance and focal length in the above case

At what distance from a concave lens of focal length 20 cm a 6 cm tall object be placed so as to obtain its image at 15
cm from the lens? Also calculate the size of the image formed. Draw a ray diagram to justify your answer for the above
situation and label it

39. Read the following and answer these questions


In household electric circuits, the mains supply is delivered to our homes using three core cable as shown here. The
cable consists of three wires, live wire, neutral wire and earth wire. The live wire is at potential difference of 220 V for
the domestic supply and the potential difference between live and neutral wire is 220 volts. The live wire is connected to
electric meter through a fuse or a circuit breaker of higher rating. The neutral wire is connected directly to the electric
meter.
(i) What is the potential difference between live and neutral wire?
(ii) Switches are connected in household circuit with which wire?
(iii) What is the function of fuse wire in house hold electric supply?
