JULIENNE IS NOTHING BUT THE TYPICAL TEENAGE GIRL.

She likes to go to the movies; window-shopping; and boy-hunting with her ghurls. She does in fact LOVES to watch those vampires that shimmer under sunlight. She likes to watch chick-flicks and her favorite was Pretty Woman; and on a local theater, she would pay good money to watch One More Chance. She thinks that she would die if John Lloyd Cruzher favorite actorwould be two feet away from her. She is a fan of drama. However, she admits that she doesnt want drama in her life. She likes drama better caged in the silver screen.

She likes an author by name: Nicholas Sparks. She finds herself wearing tears right on the pages whose words were tasteful and moving as she claims. There was one novel-turned-movie by Sparks that she always had the energy to watch. A Walk to Remember, though she watched it everyday for the same number that she showers, is a film that moves her every time. For some odd and inexplicable reason, she is left drab of emotions. She assumes that this is because emotions are poured out if she watched the scene where Mandy Moore slowly dies as Shane West fulfills her dreams for her. Jamie, played by Mandy Moore, has been in two places in one time. Like Jamie, Julienne had convinced herself that if she were going to die today, she would want to be in two places at once first. The ending credits roll and the silence around Dans room is slowly fading. Tears, as usual, were running down Juliennes cheeks. Dont you get tired of watching this?? Dan finally speaks out his mind. His tone was very careful that Julienne wouldnt notice that sting of exasperation. Nope, I love it, in fact. I wish I would be in two places at once like Jamie! I love it. It was always Juliennes answer every time she gets asked about Nicholas Sparks movies. Dan flashed a smile. You like some coffee? He asks in Filipino. Sure. She replies with identical language and tone. Dan launched off the couch and started to the kitchen. The kitchen has a style of a young interior designer. Very modern with intently-obscured shapes that complement each other in color. A standard individual would ponder a thought in mind. Dan must be rich! And yes, he is. His family is. He belonged to the bloodline of Maravillas that owned a number of hectares of lands over Laguna. He isJuliennes boyfriend.

Over the summer that theyve spent together, they have tasted a sweeping landscape and experienced the minted fragrance of the mountains. The trip was a beautiful pile of memories, Dan thought. If Julienne is CRAZY about romance, Dan is the exact opposite. He enjoys watching the Saw series that extremely disappoints him with the last three films. He convinced himself that: paranormal entities, flesh-eating zombies, and Ouija boards will be his leisure life. He hover the kettle over the cup and let the hot water run down. He does the same to the second cup. He stirs and he sips a bit. The taste of the coffee is stuck to his tongue. He remembers the taste of Starbucks coffee. He tries too hard to understand why people prefer Starbucks coffee when they can save like 1000% of their expenditures if they have their own The phone was ringing. Was it his? No. It wasnt his. A song by Rihanna plays back by the phone. Exasperated, Dan flies his arms to the air even to the level of the phone. He realizes it is Juliennes. Hello. The accept call button, the one that Dan pressed, is functioning but no one answered. Hello?? Dan repeated, now with doubt. Hmahm Dan hears a muffled sound, almost sounding like a laugh. The call disconnected. Dan thought that this was a prank by someone they both knew, hence he browsed through Juliennes inbox. Honestly chilled if there was a killer lurking around; a paranoia that he might have gotten from the movie Scream, Dan finally opened the inbox. He reads three messages. One from Juliennes mother and it reads: Anak, umuwi ka nang maaga, huh? Dan sighs with relieve and the chilling fades away.

The second message is from a telecom company--an advertisement text. The last message was remotely different from the previous two. It came from an unknown number and it brings back the scream paranoia. The message read: Thanks for last night, babe. I love how you dealt with my *****. Dan is furious now. He comes from being the hero of a horror movie and now feels like the shark from Jaws. He approaches Julienne immediately. What does this mean? He swings up her phone. Julienne reads the message and there was the word: worry spelled right on her face. She builds herself together and tries to answer Dans question. I dont know. I barely know the number. And besides, I was with you all night that day, yes? Dan realizes she was right but still wears a doubting face. Y-Y-You wont believeJulienne didnt finished the sentence. Dan feels sorry. He wrapped Julienne around with his attractively hard biceps that doesnt fail to make Julienne feel secured. Im sorry, he mutters. I shouldnt have doubted you. Julienne answered with a smile. A sign of peace.

It was already 4:00 PM and Julienne disappeared to the door. She mentioned of going to the convenience store, which made Dan think of something else. No, he said to himself. I cant doubt her. Dan realizes that she loves her intensely that when she tells him to listen, he will. That when she says to jump off a ledge of a 53-story building, he will, smiling. Dan was crazy for her. Crazy. Crazy, crazy love.

An hour and a half passed and Dan had already fixed the clutter problem of his condominium. He had already dusted off the cobwebs that seemed to reside with him in the condo for months now. He assumed that he was the kind that couldnt maintain a house, or at least, a space, without the help of a maid. He also had arranged the books and alphabetized it on the shelf. He was thirsty, and well, waiting for Julienne for an hour and a half already. A knock on the door finally breaks the silence of an alone Dan. Was it Julienne? He hopes it was. And he hoped correct. It was Julienne. She had a fancy-looking scarf wrapped around her neck. He kind of liked it. He flied his lips and landed them to her cheeks and greeted. Hi. You took so long. I missed you. Julienne is silent. But she wasnt mad, or anything as such. She was wearing a poker face, he thinks. Julienne started on the couch. Dan knew that something wrong is happening. SHIT!!! The silence was of great contrast to the noisy ringing of his phone! It was Juliennes mother thats calling him. Oh my God!! Jenny was crying. Dan, Julienne is dead A storm of fear and sadness surged through Dan, WhWhat do you mean? Dan paused and resumed. I am with her right now. No. She was assaulted and got her neck cut. The police take custody of her body. Tears ran down his cheeks as he receives the bad news. He loves Julienne like an earthquake. It shakes his world to know that the one he loves, the one that he attempts to live with forever, is already dead. He raised a wedding ring up to the air, and threw it on the floor. He is on his knees now. The weight of the tragedy was of great heaviness that he burdens to carry. He realizes

He loves Julienne like an earthquake. Dan could repeat it for the rest of his life. He loves Julienne like an earthquake. Yes, to the intensity of 7 and to the magnitude of 10. He was intensely in love. Truly, madly, deeply in love, as much as clichd it would sound: He was crazy for her. His muffled cry was the only sound that resides in the condo that moment. He was stunned. But he had to cry. He had to let it all out. His mind veered from sorrowful to intuitive. He predicts that it was a ghost that knocked on his door. But SHIT! The girl is still on the couch. Afraid, he ran towards her and gripped on her shoulders. It was the face of Julienne, but he intuits it was not the girl she wants to marry. Its an apparition. He shifted focus to the scarf. He pulled the scarf off. A fresh wound by, probably, a kitchen knife, was on her neck. He shifted back to her face. OH GOD!! The face was terrifying. Pale. Distorted. Bruised. He finds himself fetching the girl like a baseball, away from him, out of fear. He should not. He shouldnt be afraid. Its Julienne. He must talk to the girl. However the girl doesnt create a tiny bit of decibel. He must talk to the girl. Julienne? Julienne? He repeated.

Tears are running down his face. I know that I may have doubted your love, but know that I never imagined living without it. And I dont think I can. You are my life. You are my soul. He sniffs, wiping tears a bit. I know youd like to be in two places at once before you die. He smiled unintentionally. Like Jaime, right? And like Landon, Id make that dream of yours come true. He laughs diabolically and maniacally however muffled. You are in two places at once right now. Dan looks closer to the girl. Youre in that convenience store and youre right here over my lap. His eyes were of Lucifers. You shouldnt have tried to play me, you bitch! Dan was furious. He found out that the one who texted Julliene was her ex. All along, he was for vengeance. He felt stupid for falling for Julliene. He recalls what happened for the past hour and a half. He followed Julienne to the convenience store and then grabbed and grappled her into a remote street and then slicks her throat until dead. He bought a scarf beforehand, as though he planned the killing like a professional killer. There are things that are done for love. Some are of the ordinary, and some are of the crazies. Dan slips his hand to the girls head. The girl flickered her eyes, and then assaulted Dan. She left a wound on his neck, the exact same size and placement as hers. A flood of blood was in Dans condo. Julienne feels contented, that she is finally in two places at once. One with Dan, and one with peace.
