AGREE /DISGREE ABOUT CONCEPT OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT


And anything that has to do with employees by complying with labour laws of a state or u. The reasons
why different authors have different views on what human resource is all about are;
 Art because is uses creativity and innovations approach and science because of the
applications of theories
It is pervasive force because its required in every department of the organization
 It is a continuous process because it’s a never ending process, number of functions are
performed in series.
 Human Resource Management provides auxiliary service function to assists other
departments interms of employees related issues.
 Human Resource Management must not be discriminated and also does not violate the
country legal laws.
 It is interdisciplinary and fast changing. It is not related to one area.
 It is action oriented. It must encourage and motivate people and show results and put their
best.
 Human Resource Management is about people-centered. It is about people not the
structure.
 Human relations philosophy. It is to build goodwill between employees and the
organisation.
 Comprehensive and integrated concept. Human Resource Management is to do with the
development of the employees.
 Future oriented. It develop an individual to put up their output.

With the above explanations, I therefore agree with the different views regarding what at all Human
Resource is about.
The main reasons are as follows;
 It seeks to help the organization to recruit and select suitable job candidates.
 Equip employees with the competencies required for current and future jobs.
 To help the organization to design and implement system and strategies that help employees
giving their best.
 To help the organization to design and implement systems to reward and motivate employees.

As Human Resource Manager, you need four (4) critical decisions to conduct the recruitment and
selection for the organisation during this COVID-19 pandemic especially when it has to do with
employing someone from abroad when all borders are being locked down, there are restrictions of
movements, everybody has to practice social distancing and observing social protocols.
Recruitment and selections has to be done through the following necessary protocols. As Human
Resource Manager, recruitment is a process of gathering a pool of suitable applicant for a job advertised.
Selection is to also do with putting the right person on the right job.
However, there is no standard process of recruitment and selection which is applicable to all
organisations.
It will therefore be appropriate to use the underlisted procedures/critical decisions to conduct the selection
and recruitment during the laws of the pandemic protocols.
 Defining the vacancy; who/what do you want to employ. This has to do with identifying the job
requirement and the job description and the personal characteristics required for the post.
 Attracting the applicant. How attract the applicant abroad during this pandemic? This can be
done by using advertisement which contain all the necessary information about the organisation ,
main business and the location, the job tittle, main qualification and experience reward and
opportunities, how to apply, closing date and the address for forwarding the application.
 Assessing the applicant ; this stage talks about how to identify a suitatble candidate.
So because of the COVID-19,
 Shortlisting of applicants must be done online
 Completion of applications forms must be done online
 Selection test must be online
 Interview must be online through zoom, Gmail, teleconferencing, whatsapp ,twitter, skype,ect
 Background investigations from the persons referees through the internet/social media
 Medical examinations will be done using computer aided-devices and
 The job offer will be given to the right candidate.
Who should be involved in the selection process?
The Human Resource Manager and other Specialist agency through social media to prevent the
spread of COVID-19.

As a student of Human Resource Management, the training methods/techniques I would
recommend the government to use in training Contact Tracers are as follows;

Training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skills of an employee for doing a particular
job. The purpose of training is to achieve a change in the behavior of those trained and to enable
them to do their jobs better.
Hence , the job training and off the job training approaches will be required to use in training the
contact tracers during this COVID-19 era.
On-the-job Training (TJC) Approach is a method of training in which employees are given
hands-on experience with instructions under the guidance of an experienced worker, supervisor or
trainer to be able to do a particular job well. ssss
Off-this-job Training Approach is a method of training in which employees/prospective
employees are trained outside the working environment with an experience person in an
organized place to be able to do a particular job well.
As a Human Resource Management student, on-the-job training and off-the-job training are both
needed for these contact tracers because a Public Health Nurse ,Environmental Health Officer is
already in-line with taking contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of any sickness only need
on –the –job training for this purpose, BUT A General Nurse/Ordinary Person who has no idea on
contact tracing need off-the-job approach training to be able to become a contact tracers.

With-the-job training, job rotation and lateral transfers provide trainees with variety of work
experiences and broaden the understanding the need to manage people more effectively.
Employees/trainees also gain experience in different kinds of narrowing defined jobs in the
organisation.

Off-the-job training allow slides and videotapes to be used in a special media room in an
organisation facility. This makes it easy for trainees to understands things easy and practical
demonstrations can well be explained to trainees.
