TOPIC 1: The Role of Pop Fiction Literature in Shaping the Adolescents’ Perspectives

on Social Awareness

Objectives: The objectives of this study are to explore adolescents’ perception of the themes
present in pop fiction literature, to analyze how the values portrayed in these works influence
their understanding of social awareness, and to examine the broader impact of these themes
have on their social relationships and interactions with peers.
Gap:
● There is existing research relevant to the topic but it differs in variables as it involves
literacy learning, gender roles, and gender identity.
● It can be fiction in general or specified to a theme of fiction.
● This is why there is only a little research on pop fiction literature using content
analysis and its emotional impact on readers.
● Pop fiction themes are yet to be discussed in research and its influence on
adolescents. There is also research about perception shifts in specified genres. With
all that said, this research aims to focus on pop fiction literature themes effects on the
social awareness of adolescents.

SOS: This research could offer valuable insights to various groups, including authors and
writers by inspiring them to create stories that engage young readers, parents by helping
them identify themes that foster positive growth in their children, readers by encouraging a
deeper understanding of how pop fiction literature builds social awareness, and future
researchers by providing a foundation for further investigations into this subject.

TOPIC 2: Narratives of Female Litigation Lawyers: A Qualitative Study of the Lived

Experiences in a Male-Dominated Profession
Objectives: This research focuses on the factors that impact the professional growth of
female litigation lawyers. This includes the challenges and setbacks that they may
experience as their career progresses, workplace dynamics with their coworkers, and the
experiences and strategies they make use of in client interactions in order to contradict
preconceptions.

Gap: While there have been researches tackling the same issue that came from different
countries, based on different cultures, backgrounds, and circumstances. Studies that
exposed the narratives of female litigation lawyers in the Philippines have been left
unexplored. Therefore this research aims to expose the experiences of Filipinas in the legal
profession and how being a woman affects their professional growth.

SOS: There are four groups that will benefit from this study. For female legal practitioners,
the study aims to be the ground of women for determining strategies and advice. NGOs or
non-government organizations will be able to provide support and awareness through
programs. Female workers will have an understanding of their experiences in a
male-dominated profession or being at work in general through this resource. Future
researchers will have the foundation for topics involving feminism, gender equality, and
women in society, developing law and policy-related research.
TOPIC 3: Exploring the Perspectives of Elderly People in Nursing Homes on Family
Relationships

Objectives: Our research focuses on three main objectives. First, It aims to assess the
impact of nursing home placement on elderly individuals' well-being. Second, To explore the
factors that influence their perceptions of family members, especially in the context of living
in a nursing home. Finally, to examine the expectations elderly individuals have regarding
family involvement, in areas of care and financial support, while they reside in a nursing
home."

Gap: Now that the objectives are covered, here is the research gap of this study.
Previous studies have explored the views of family members, caregivers, and the elderly, but
in these contexts, family values differ significantly from those in the Philippines. Another gap
is while Filipino families traditionally value respect and care for their elders, the number of
elderly individuals entering nursing homes increases, and these decisions are often made
either by the elderly themselves or their families.

SOS: Next, let's move on to the groups that will benefit from this study.
Here we have the:
● Family members of elderly individuals in nursing homes can better understand the
feelings and perspectives of their elderly family members.
● Nursing home administrators and caregivers by helping them better understand
elderly individuals’ family relationships, in which they can make plans that can help
the elderly.
● Elderly Advocacy Groups and NGOs can advocate for improved programs and
policies that will support elderly individuals in nursing homes.
● And Future Researchers can serve this study as a foundation for future research
exploring family studies and social work, helping to further explore this topic.
