Access to SAGT In order to maintain high standard of safety, security and convenience to all users of our terminal, we are compelled to restrict entry to any unauthorized personnel. Since, SAGT is situated within the situated within the Colombo port premises, access to SAGT would be through the existing port gates which requires the user to posses a permit issued by SLPA security division. 1.1 Agents SAGT issues photo identity passes to vessel operating and container operating agents having business at our terminal in order to minimize the time spent security protocol every time they enter the premises. You are requested to submit a list baring names with NIC numbers, SLPA permit numbers and registration numbers of their vehicles entering the terminal, in order to obtain passes. All entry vehicles are subjected by security guards deployed at the entrance. 1.2 Venders Vendors who provide multiple services to vessels are required to submit their request through the vessel operating agents giving their names and NIC numbers. They must clearly indicate the purpose of the visit and could be faxed to SAGT approval SAGT in return will scrutinize these applications and refax to the vessel operating agents with approvals. 1.3 Visitors Visitors to any vessel calling SAGT must obtain written permission through the respective vessel operating agent, 24 hours prior to the berthing. No pedestrians are allowed in the operational areas. Visitors will be facilitated transportation via internal vehicles used in SAGT. 2. 3. Berthing arrangement 3.1Berthing policy Both JCT and SAGT will be on equal footing when it comes to berthing priorities of vessels. Vessels would be berthed and sailed according to their arrivals and readings respectively. vessels taking berths at SAGT be port to quay unless operation requirements of any vessel called to be starboard to quay berthing. Vessels which are having cranes on port side will be berthed starboard to quay. 3.2 Pre- arrivals It is mandatory t all vessel agents should submit their vessel schedules one month in advance to SAGT. SAGT monthly vessel schedules will be exchanged with JCT as well, in order to have a smooth flow of ITT. Pre arrival notice for vessel will be 72 hours. Please use pre arrival notice form provide by us in declaring vessel arrivals. SAGT needs close coordination between agent and terminal staff in order to attain proper effective berthing plans. Any changes to service patterns should be noticed by the agent. Agents should forward vessel particulars and profile plans (general plan) at least 72 hours prior to berthing to avoid delays regard. 3. Inter Terminal Transfers By the operation of ITT's two terminals SAGT and JCT could conduct the ITT containers in an organized efficient and orderly manner. A separate operational unit by the name of Colombo Inter Terminal Office (CITO) has been established in order to run this operation and is stationed at both SAGT and SLPA terminals. All containers landed at particular that requires ITT haulage will be transferred to the other terminal immediately after landing irrespective the date of arrival of the connecting vessel.
