Hon'ble Mr. Justice M. M.

Kumar

His Lordship Born on January 5, 1953, did his L.L.B in 1977. His Lordship was enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh in the same year. Practiced for a brief period at the District Courts, Sangrur and then left for England for his Master's degree. His Lordship was awarded degree of LL.M by the University of Birmingham in 1982. His Lordship also worked as part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Punjab University, Chandigarh, from 1984 to 1990. He authored a book titled 'Control of Exclusion Clauses in England and India' published in London in 1985. In 1991-92 his Lordship was elected to the office of Vice President, Punjab and Haryana Bar Association, Chandigarh. He also worked as an Additional Advocate General Punjab from October, 1995 to December, 1996. He lectured at Haryana Administrative Academy. He is President of International Law Association Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh Chapter.He is also President of Punjab ,Haryana and Chandigarh Chapter of Indian Law Institute. He has been closely associated with Chandigarh Judicial Academy and has been delivering lectures to Additional District Judges and Civil Judges. He also attended various Seminars, National conference of the I.L.A. His Lordship was elevated to the Bench on July 2, 2001.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta

His Lordship was born on 17.10.1957 at Karnal. He belongs to a family of illustrious lawyers. His grand-father late Babu Dalip Chand was a well known civil lawyer of his times, who voluntarily left practice when he was at the peak of his career at the age of 65 in the year 1969 to devote rest of his life for social work. His father Hon'ble Mr. Justice Jitendra Vir Gupta retired as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court. His Lordship was enrolled as an advocate on 25.7.1980 after obtaining degree in Law from Kurukshetra University in the same year. After spending initial years of his professional carrier at district Courts, he practiced at High Court mainly on the civil side including labour and service laws . He also worked as Additional Advocate General, Punjab from 1997 to 1999.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice S. S. Saron

His Lordship was born on September 04, 1955 and was enrolled as an Advocate on September 18, 1980. His Lordship started his practice at Sangrur and conducted many cases on civil, criminal and service matters. His Lordshp was also appointed as Assistant Advocate General, Deputy Advocate General and Additional Advocate General, Punjab. His Lordship was elevated as a permanent Judge of Punjab & Haryana High Court on July, 02, 2002.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant

His Lordship was born on February 10, 1962 in a middle class family of village Petwar in District Hisar. His Lordship passed his matric standard examination in the year 1977 from Government High School of the village. Graduated in Arts from the Government Post-Graduate College, Hisar in the year 1981 and did the Bachelor's-inLaw from Maharishi Dayannand University, Rohtak in 1984. His Lordship was started practice at District Courts, Hisar in the same year and shifted his base to Chandigarh in the year 1985 to practice at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. His Lordship specialized in Constitutional, Service and Civil matters. His Lordship remained Standing Counsel/Counsel for a number of Universities, Boards, Corporations, Banks as well as the High Court itself and was designated as Senior Advocate in March, 2001. His Lordship earned the distinction of being appointed the youngest Advocate General of Haryana on July 7, 2000 and held the said office till his elevation as a Permanent Judge on the Bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court on January 09, 2004. A widely travelled person, he has also been on the rolls of various international Law Associations. His Lordship was a keen debater during his student days. His Lordship has a passion for reading and writing all types of literature and enjoys classical music. His Lordship takes interest in agricultural farming and is a keen environmentalist.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Laxmi Narain Mittal

Born on 6.11.1951. Educational Qualification B.Sc. L.L.B. Passed B.Sc. (Medical) from Hindu College, Sonepat under Punjab Univeristy, Chandigarh. Passed L.L.B. in 1974 from Law Department of Punjab University, Chandigarh standing Ist in the University (Ist Class Ist and Gold Medalist in L.L.B.) Joined Haryana Civil Services (Judicial Branch) on 5.9.1975. Promoted as Chief Judicial Magistrate in June, 1983. Served as such at Hissar and Kurukshetra. Also served as Senior Sub Judge at Kurukshetra and Ambala. Promoted as Addl. District & Sessions Judge and joined as such on 4.5.1988. Served as such at different stations. Also remained on deputation as whole time President of District Consumer Forum, Kaithal and Kurukshetra and about 9 months in the year 1994. Promoted as District & Sessions Judge and joined in that rank as Legal Remembrancer and Secretary, Law and Legislative Department, Govt. of Haryana, Chandigarh on 1.9.1999 and served in this capacity for about three years. Then ramained posted as District & Sessions Judge, Kurukshetra about 2-1/2 years and at Faridabad from 4.12.2004 till 2nd April, 2007. Elevated to Bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court and took oath as such on 2nd April, 2007.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi,Chief Justice

Born on 18th November, 1954. Joined the Bar in 1978. Practiced mainly in the Gauhati High Court. Appointed as Permanent Judge of Gauhati High Court on 28th February, 2001. Transferred to Punjab and Haryana High Court on 9th September, 2010. Elevated as Chief Justice on 12th February, 2011.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Satish Kumar Mittal

His Lordship was born on 15th April, 1954. Passed B.A. (Hons.) from Govt. College, Narnual. Passed LL.B. from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in Ist Division. Passed LL.M. from Panjab University, Chandigarh with distinction and was the Ist Gold Medallist of the University. His Lordship was enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana in the year 1978 and started practise in Punjab and Haryana High court in the year 1980. His Lordship mainly practiced in Civil, Revenue and Writ side in all branches of law. His Lordship was elected as VicePresident of the High Court Bar Association in the year 1995-1996 and was elevated as Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on July 2, 2002.
