A. Title Page
1. Title of the Research Proposal
2. Names of principal researcher/investigator [PI], names of all co-authors along with their
qualifications and institutional affiliations
3. If the researchers are students; the name, willingness, and designation of the research
mentor(Faculty member), must be provided
4. Date of submission of the research proposal
5. Full contact details of the PI (address, mobile number and email) must be provided
6. Specific Aims of the study and hypothesis should be elaborated
B. Abstract
The abstract is concise and comprehensive summary of research project. It should be one
paragraph and follow word count of 250 words. It should include following major points;
main aim of current study, basic study design, overall utility of study.
C. Introduction
A comprehensive and detailed account of the gaps in available literature, and the possible
benefits of the study to scientific literature and to the general population.
D. Objectives of the study
A statement regarding the objectives of the study are provided. The objectives of the study
should follow SMART protocol (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time bound).
E. Research Methods (Materials and Methods)
• Study Design (mention name of study variant you will follow)
• Setting of study (name and place where study will be conducted)
• Sample size and target population (number of participants-sample size, grouping
criteria)
• Sampling technique (the sampling technique to be employed)
• Sample selection (Inclusion criteria/exclusion criteria for including/excluding
participants).
• Calculation of sample size (what will be the parameters/measures and power of study
for the sample size)
• Data collection procedure (mention in detail how researcher will identify and measure
variable(s); identify methods of data collection, data tools with their reliability and
validity)
• Data Analysis/Statistical analysis (relevant details of the software, tests used,
descriptive statistics, test of significance and variables)
• Ethical Considerations (the procedure of obtaining approval; mention of full informed
consent from participants; mention of patient safety, anonymity, and confidentiality;
(include sample of the informed consent form for participants while submission)).
Documents related to proposal (data entry forms; questionnaires where applicable; written
agreements for appropriate centers in case of multicenter study/study at other venue)
F. References
Refences should be in Vancouver style. The format is to be followed for references (in text
citation) as well as in the terminal list (bibliography).
G. Annexures
It is meant for adding questionnaires, consent forms, Gantt Chart,IRB approval letter etc

• Margins:
• The left margin → 1.5 inches
• The right, bottom and top margins -> 1 inch
• Line spacing:
• Line spacing, of all text, including bibliographic references, should be 1.5
• Line spacing should be 6 points (before and after) between the paragraphs
