It is the place where an animal live.

Deep oceans.

3\What does ‘adapted to their habitat’ mean?
It means that animals’ bodies suit the place where they live.
4\Mention the habitat of the following animals:
A dolphin: the ocean.
A chimpanzee: the forest.
A crocodile: the river.
A polar bear: snow and ice.
5\How do you think these animals adapted to live in their habitat?
Some animals display Structural adaptations, for example “The camel’s feet are
broad so they don’t sink in soft sand, it has thick eyelashes to keep the sand from
its eyes, it has a hump, it store fat that it can digest to release water and energy.”,
but other animals display behavioral adaptation, for example “Nocturnal animals:
active at night.”
6\ How do you think penguins and polar bears, adapted to live in the cold
climate?
They have insulators (fur, feathers and fat) that don’t allow the heat to pass
through.

They can help the animals to survive, find food and stay safe.
CAMOUFLAGE
1\What does the word “camouflage” mean?
An adaptation that animals have, colures and patterns on their bodies blend with
the background in their normal habitat.
2\How camouflage helps animals?
Camouflage may hide prey animals from predators (the patterns on moth make it
difficult for a bird to spot on a leaf) or help a predator stalk its prey (white seal
hides behind the snow).
