How do you plan your presentation? Explain

Technical Presentation is a structured talk where specialized information is delivered to a


specific audience to either convey the information or persuade them to take action.

Before the final presentation, planning the presentation is important. Following are the steps:

1) Know your Audience:


We should know about our Audiences’ age, background, knowledge level, interests
and expectations. Based on that we need to tailor the content and language
accordingly to connect with them using relevant examples, stories, humour that
resonate with the audience.

2) Define Your Goal:


We should be clear with our goal of presentation:
1) To inform: Educate our audience on a specific topic
2) To persuade: Convince them to take a specific action

3) Choose Your Topic:


Select a topic relevant to your audience and goal considering their interests and what
information would be valuable to them. Conduct research and gather credible
information to support your points.

4) Structure Your Presentation:


a) Introduction:
Start with attention grabbing powerful opening statement or story and then introduce
yourself, your topic and the goal.
b) Body:
Elaborate key points clearly and concisely using visuals, examples, and data to
support your claims by maintaining a smooth transition between points.
