7 CARDINAL SINS
- Pride– Excessive self-importance or arrogance.
- Envy – Jealousy of others’ success, abilities, or possessions.
- Gluttony – Overindulgence, especially in food or drink.
-Greed – An intense desire for wealth or material things.
- Lust– Strong, uncontrolled desire, often for pleasure or power.
- Sloth – Laziness or avoidance of work and responsibility.
- Wrath – Extreme anger or hatred, often leading to revenge.

10 COMMANDMENTS
(on Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:4-21)

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.– Worship only God.

2. You shall not make idols.– Do not worship statues or false gods.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. – Use God's name with respect.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. – Set aside one day for rest and worship.
5. Honor your father and your mother. – Respect and obey your parents.
6. You shall not murder.– Do not take an innocent life.
7. You shall not commit adultery.– Be faithful in marriage.
8. You shall not steal.– Do not take what isn't yours.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.– Do not lie or spread falsehoods.
10. You shall not covet.– Do not desire what belongs to others.

3 THEOLOGICAL VIRTUES
FAITH-God has given us the virtue of faith, which is a personal response to the Lord's revelation
of his holiness, love, beauty and transcendence

HOPE-God has given us the virtue of jope.


Hope fills us with the confidence that God accompanies us on our journey through life and
guides us to eternal life with him.

CHARITY-God has given us the virtue of love, the very love that he has for us. Our Lord asks us
to accept this love and respond to him with it.

ADORATION- The first act of the virtue of religion. To adore God is to acknowledge, in respect
and absolute submission, the "nothingness of the creature" who would not exist but for God.

PRAYER- indispensable condition for being able to obey God's commandments.

SACRIFICE- a sign of adoration and gratitude, supplication and communion.

LOVE, HONOR, RESPECT- to love and to save God in faith and hope is our first duty and
privilege.

SIN- is any action, thought, or desire that goes against God’s will or moral law. It is often seen
as disobedience to God and can harm one's relationship with Him and others.

3 types of sin:

- Original Sin – The sinful state inherited from Adam and Eve’s disobedience.
- Mortal Sin– A serious sin that separates a person from God (e.g., murder, adultery).
- Venial Sin– A lesser sin that weakens but does not break one’s relationship with God (e.g.,
lying, impatience).

conscience- mysterious voices of god tells right and wrong

virtues- the habitual and strong desposition to do good

CARDINAL VIRTUES
vices- strong desposition to do evil

Prudence- capacity to discern what is good and what is evil

Justice- the habit to give god and our neighbor what is their own

Fortitude- The capacity to doing good

"commandment" comes from the Latin word "commandamentum," which itself comes from
"commandare" (meaning "to command or entrust").
"commandare" is derived from:
● "Com-" (meaning "together" or "with")
● "Mandare" (meaning "to order, entrust, or give a mandate")

OATH- Promise to people (with God as witness).


Example: Courtroom
VOW- Promise to God (as a personal commitment).
Example: Marriage

OBEDIENCE- humble submission to Gods will

CHASTITY AND PURITY- The respect for the human body as a temple of god

ETERNAL LAWS OF GOD- 10 COMMANDMENTS

SLOTH- It is the spiritual laziness in doing good

PALMISTRY-The practice of foreseeing future events by reading palms of the hand

FORTUNE TELLING OR DIVINATION- The custom predicting the future of a person

PROPHECY- Performance of wonders and the forsights of the future by the power of god

VENERATION OR DULIA- Act of respect we render to the saints
