It is in giving that we receive. Church traditions teaches us that service
in following the will of God delivers us to a disposition of “being for
others”. Our values are instilled through our practices that allows us to
offer our time, talent, and treasure for others. In Lent; prayer, abstinence,
and alms giving gives us renewed sense of hope that we, as a people, are
directed towards what is truly good.
IV. Our Duties Towards God

Through the Mass, we now more deeply know


God, love God, and can serve God. When we hear
the final dismissal at Mass, we are ready to go in
peace and glorify the Lord with our lives.
Valuing

Solid Piety- Being devout, when not tempered may lead to being
scrupulous. Solid piety always has deep roots of faithfulness and
respect to prayer with an awareness of God’s presence.

The virtue of solid piety and Christ-centeredness dispose us to


worship our loving God.
