Like a ten-speed bike, most of us have gears we do not use.

" -- Charles Schulz All my life, whenever it comes time to make a decision, I make it and forget about it. Always be sincere, even if you do not mean it. The reward of suffering is experience. I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth and they thought it was hell. --- harry Truman

INTRODUCTION
Teaching was the first profession of Jesus. He thought his followers, as well as those people who didnt believe in Him, about the kingdom of God. Teaching is a blessing to everyone. Teaching is not just a profession rather a responsibility addressed to each one of us.

And finally, here we are, taking the responsibility to extend what we know and build up the values that one must acquire.

And now, let me share with you a portion of my experiences being a student teacher of Anislag National High School. Experience that will be forever treasure this is my portfolio.

So just sit back, relax and enjoy reading!

REFLECTION ON PRACTICE TEACHING EXPERIENCES

REFLECTION WITH THE STUDENTS
The teachers teach for students. Simply, the student is the center of Teaching-Learning Process. Before looking for the best method, best materials to be used, one must consider the suitability of those with the students ability and interest.

Of course we cannot deny that there are times the students are very talkative, to the point that I myself cant hear what Im saying. And having a voice, like mine, was somehow one of my weaknesses. So instead of competing

with their noise, its either I stop or talk in a very low manner, for them to realize that they were so noisy already.

Another thing is that the students were very observant. From the moment I enter their room, while discussing and even leaving the room, most of their eyes were on me. Though I feel conscious, it made me realize that indeed the teacher must be careful enough to what she or he is saying or doing. Teacher is expected to be a role model good and effective.

Nevertheless, I am blessed having a class like II-B. I may have only 1 class, but that class is worth a bucket of so much happiness.

REFLECTION WITH COOPERATING TEACHER

How I wish my cooperating teacher would not be a terrible one! Well, pardon me for saying this but Im hoping that would not happen to me. And I think it worked! Not a terrible one rather an extraordinary one, thats how I can describe my cooperating teacher in the name of Mrs. Helen B. Mesa.

Maam Helen served Anislag National High School for several years not to mention the exact number of years unconditionally. She is great and kindhearted. Enthusiasm is a gift and I think Maam Helen has it. One thing I and

even the students, see her more like a mother. She is very caring and treated her students like her own children. Truly, a teacher is not just a good and effective role model, a parent too.

REFLECTION WITH ADMINISTRATION

The principal and administrators are one of the stakeholders in the curriculum implementation. The school principal is the one supervising the curriculum implementation, select and recruit new teachers, admit students, procure equipment and materials needed for effective learning. Aside from that, the principal plans for the improvement of the school facilities and physical plans. Sir Rico S. Portem, the principal of Anislag National High School has acquired the qualities of being an effective principal. He is responsible and dedicated to his work. I often see him monitoring every class in the school premises- rain or shine! The school has a melodious relationship with the community also. We all know that the community has a part for an effective learning. And, it is heartwarming to know that the community is very supportive in the activities done

by the school. The principal, barangay officials, parents, teachers and the students were helping hand in hand for the development of the institution.

DEMONSTRATION TEACHING
This is it! For the past three and a half years of preparation, equipped with all the needed weapons, here we are facing the path we chose the teaching profession. After the entire obstacle Ive encountered, rejection of schools due to certain reasons, I am still blessed that ANHS warmly welcome me to their home. I was pressured right after a step in this school probably because I am now carrying the prestige name of Bicol University College of Education. I was so nervous because of the new environment, new faces and new challenges. Well, again I owe it to Him for giving me a relaxing environment, approachable people and great challenges which somehow develop my strengths and improve my weaknesses.

What was the first challenge for me is the UbD Understanding by Design. Since I was not familiar with UbD, it is just like everyday is a battle day! But as time passes by, little by little I was able to conquer this challenge. Though sometimes, I ran out with weapons activities I mean, I believed I made it at the end. Thinking a lot of activities are somehow a headache but very satisfying whenever I saw my students enjoying and they are able to learn from those activities. I always start my lesson with a prayer. I want my students to make it a habit, thanking and asking the guidance of the Almighty Creator. Also, impart them the importance of cleanliness by asking them to pick up the pieces of papers or wrappers. By means of this, I want to teach them not only the subject matter but how to be responsible student. As much as possible I didnt want to be strict. I want my students to learn while having fun and not with being afraid with the teacher. I just keep on reminding them their limitations, my limitations. Setting rules are indeed very important. Of course, there are still unavoidable circumstances during my lessons. One of them is time-management. I often extend my hour just to finish the activities or discussion. Some of the supposed to be activity within the four

corners of the room; Ill just give it as a homework or will continue by next meeting. Through my demonstration teaching, it made me realize that there is still a room for improvement. Funny, but the truth is that my class thought me more than I did.
