PROLOGUE

12:20 a.m. September 13, 2020I still cannot sleep. Ever since I opened this weird cage in Physics class, I haven't been able to sleep at all. Migraines and screeching noises is all I get at night and its killing me. I can't take it anymore. I'm literally going crazy. like Charlie Sheen. I hope I'm dead wrong. I want to get this giant thing in my head out or find a doctor that can do something about it. Maybe I have cancer. I might die tomorrow, the next day, or maybe now. I have a bad feeling about this. There's something really wrong going on with me.

CHAPTER ONE: Migraine

Its been almost seven hours since the migraine went away. My head feels really heavy like two hundred pounds. Other than that, I feel alright, but disturbed in a way. I got dressed in fresh clothing and took my lunch from the fridge and headed out to my brand new BMW Revelations. It s the fastest car on the planet and I got it for my sixteenth birthday. Pretty dang sweet. I drove to Spearson High School, the smallest, yet the most competitive school in Seattle, Washington. You can say we're also a national elite school. I drove into my parking spot and everyone stared at my hot car and showed signs of jealousy. Feels pretty good knowing that people wish to be me. Carmen Vega, the hottest girl in the state walks towards me. "Hey Stephen, are you staying after school to finish the neutrinos calculations lab?" , she says with a light voice and fluttering eyelashes. She's trying me. She does that to every guy she sees. You can say about thirty guys have hooked up with her in the last few weeks. And I'm not going to be one of them. I do not want the ticket to drama. Girls seem to think that she's a "slut" because she steals every single guy from them and she

succeeds every time without fail. I respond, " No, sorry Carmen. I've have football remember?" " Oh, right forgot, star player.", she flirts. I walked away from her and locked my car. I started walking towards the ash brown doors of Spearson High. When I enter, I immediately started walking to my Physics class. I go into the classroom and hop into my desk in the way back. Hunter, my best friend since sixth grade turned around and quietly said, "So how was Carmen?" "Um, we talked and I said no", I replied. "You are out of your mind! Carmen is the sexiest chick around. I'd wanna hookup with her." See? Told you, every single guy wants her. and I am clever not to fall under her "love spell". " She's a total babe, but I really do not want to get near her. She's drama.", I say. "Whatever, boy scout." he jokes. I laugh a little. Mr. Rodney, our physics teacher, walks into the classroom with an irate face. Crap. Everyone ran to their desks and was ready to embrace the Rodnator. "Who in this room opened this cage?" , Mr. Rodney scowls. I guiltily slumped down in my desk. Everyone continues to stare at him blankly. "This cage was brought to the greenhouse for classified reasons and for all of your information, if this thing stays out, a lot of people will be hurt. And if it is not in here by today you will all will be staying here until I frickin' find it!" I tap Hunter's shoulder and ask, "Is he on drugs" I recalled from the day I opened it and nothing was in there. But, weirdly enough I've had migraines since then. Maybe he is telling the truth. I'm going to be pain. Just as I was about to confess, my brain violently shake and I fall flat on the floor. Blood fills my eyes and I hurl on the floor. I hear screams and Hunter yelling, "Stephen!!!" I feel excruciating pain and I wish to die this instance. But, I black out and I fall in the darkness. This is it. My life ends like a horror movie.

CHAPTER TWO: Avox

I start to regain consciousness and I open my eyes expecting to see heaven and angels, but instead I'm in a pitch black room. There is a luminous light above where I am laying. I'm laying on an iron surface and I shiver in fear. Suddenly I hear a voice, " So you stole it?" In confusion and nervousness I reply, " Where am I? I'm supposed to be dead and I don't remember stealing anything. Well, except for my friend's Jell-O cup " The voice sighs and appears as Mr. Rodney. Why in the heck is my physics teacher holding me hostage? He sighs, " I don t know what kind of game you're trying to play but, Stephen, the cage held a parasite. A parasite that's far from a tapeworm or anything like that. This parasite has supernatural abilities and it was created for termination purposes." Right after he said all of that ridiculous crap, I tried to sort out what happened in the past and what happened now. I knew he was on drugs. "There's no time to sort anything out or interrogate you because I've already scanned your brain and the parasite is living in your brain stem." Gross! I immediately touch my upper neck. " The Avox is starting to ascend to your central brain region-" I interrupt and say," Whoa, Whoa. What the heck are you doing here Mr. Rodgers?! and Avox? The parasite? Is that what you're talking about? And it seems to explain why I've been having killer headaches when I sleep-" He forces a breath and sputters, "Wait, you've been able to sleep?! This is different than what he said ." "Ok, what is going on?", I ask. " My name is actually Ovon. I'm the eleventh member of an organization called Spiracle XIII. I was a former host of Ovox, like Avox it s a supernatural parasite, and Ovox granted me electrical manipulation and sonic speed." I ask in curiosity, " You were a host? And can you tell me about Avox?" "Avox, from the information I have, it is supposed to alter the host's mind. Avox gives the host the ability to bring nightmares to reality and grant the host telepathy.", Ovon answers. " I haven't experienced any of that yet." I say. " That is because it hasn't reached its adult state yet. So far from the scans, it will most likely reach it in twenty four hours." My life will never be the same. Why was I so stupid to even open that cage. " Will I die?" I questioned. " No, Spiracle XIII will extract it before it takes over your body as a super parasite.", Ovon responded. " What does Spiracle twenty three or whatever do anyways?" " Spiracle XII is an organization of thirteen former host of these supernatural parasites. Our aim is to wipe out the whole human race to create our own supernatural race. These parasites are just to give us the supernatural characteristics that we need in order to reproduce strong healthy children that will change the world. Humans today are too weak. And we are going to change that." I slide off the iron table and I became petrified with this information. He continues, " And you are our last member, Avion." Avion is my member name. I'm number thirteen of Spiracle XIII.

CHAPTER THREE: Spiracle XIII

Ovon explained to me the rest of Spiracle XIII's plans, whereabouts, and members. He then told me that he already sent nano bugs, that hold a gas that erases memories that took place in the last thirty two hours, and erased everyone at Spearson High 's memories including my relatives. except they had it worse. They never remember having a son, cousin, nephew, or grandchild. I am depressed at the fact that Hunter will never know me ever again. I'll miss all of those times. Ovon teleports (yes I said teleoport) me to Spiracle XIII's base. We arrive their shortly. The base is an underground facility that was used for research in the middle of the Sahara Desert. Ovon explained dto me how to approach the members of the team. So basically, I can't breathe, intimidate, joke, or sleep at anytime for the next seventy two hours. There is no filter systems in the entrance of the head quarters, so the air is rich in poisonous gas. Ovon hands me a mask and we walk in the tunnel for a bout twenty minutes. By the time I reach the doors of the headquarters, I was exhausted. I take off my mask and breathe in deeply. Ovon spoke reverently, " Avion, show respect because you will be working with them for three centuries at least." What the heck?! So, I'm not human anymore?! That s more good news .. "Huh? Are you serious?", I try to say calmly. "The parasite alters your body completely once it leaves." Makes so much more sense, big guy. He continues, " The Ovox lived in my heart for almost a month. It didn't drain my life or attack right away like yours does. And the longer a parasite lives in your system, the shorter your life will be. I'm only seventy years old and I'll most likely age when I'm about one hundred fifty." Dang. I'll be like an elf from the Lord of the Rings. Sweet Oreos. " Your heart?", I ask. " Yes, every parasite lives in the most corrupted places of the host." ,Ovon replied. When I think about it, I thought I was pure in heart and mind. But, that s totally false. Pride. That's my flaw. I've always thought of myself as a sexy beast whose got everything everyone wants. Now, I'm ruin. We walk towards the huge steel doors, which I am guessing is where all of the members are. Weird symbols are engraved in the doors. Thirteen green spirals. Make sense. These people must be real logical. The doors opened and I see thirteen seats on the walls of the cylindrical room arranged from least to greatest number in a spiral staircase style. Two seats are empty of course. The man on the third chair wearing a black overcoat with a purple spiral on the collar stands up and announces, " Thirteen has come sooner than we expected and as a different person than we thought was to be. But, he has a rare quality. Our plans shall advance, but first we must introduce Avion to Spiracle XIII. Number one, Reva; she can manipulate fire and withstand one thousand degrees Celsius. Number two, Minox; he can manipulate air. Number three is me, Kaizer. I can manipulate gravity at my own will. Number four is my lovely wife, Clvone. She has the ability to create force fields and expand her molecules far enough to walk through walls. Number five, Polox, can clone himself into five copies of himself. Number six is Bevito, our oldest member, and he controls shadows at will. Number seven is Zhane; he possesses supernatural strength. Number eight, Lex, is our smartest member on the team and he holds a three level intelligence. He created the last five parasites. Number nine is Ivee; she can influence nature at will. For example, she can envelop someone in an ocean of thorny vines because someone was stupid enough to grab her butt." Kaizer glances at Zhane and continues," and number ten is Xion, our youngest member and she can magnificently manipulate water and ice. Number eleven is of course

your "mentor", Ovon. And number twelve is Dixon. He can foretell the future." he finally finshes. The most noticeable member is Reva. She has gorgeous long, wavy, fiery, blood red hair and her eyes are emerald green. She is a little sun kissed and has a black swirl tattoo on her collar bone. I'm guessing that s some sort of mark of Spiracle XIII. Reva is the sexiest girl I've ever seen. I'm in love for the first time. and I'm actually nervous when I look at her.

CHAPTER FOUR: Nightmare

Kaizer invited me to a feast. We ate such sweet food that it was sickening. I had a queasy stomach and not only that I'm sick. Sick of being part of something this crazy. The food was delicious; we ate smooth churned plum pudding, an oversized turkey, and some perfectly sliced apple slices with cinnamon on top. But, it didn't give me a good feeling. Kaizer whispered to Reva while the rest of us get up from the oak table from our green silk linen chairs and motioned her to me. Reva walked towards me and her dark scarlet hair bounced gracefully and her eyelashes twittered indicating she was innocent. Her lips were pursed and she spoke with a soft, warm voice, "Avion, I'll lead you to your room." It was brief, but I had to admit that I almost drooled. We walked out of the dining hall that was behind the cylindrical room and entered a long narrow hallway and we conversed with each other. Reva's favorite color is red, she was a national level cheerleader when she was in school, she said she was sixteen also, and she described how life changed because of her parasite, Revox. She admits that she hates destroying anything and she strongly hates the feeling of anger. By the time we arrived to the cluster of rooms where my room is supposed to be, I realized that I was fatigued. Reva pointed at a black door to the far left of the aisle and said sweetly, "That's your room, Avion, we designed it to be perfectly normal like back at home." Well, that's cool, but me living in an underground facility in the middle of Africa? Normal? "Thanks, Reva." I said

timidly. I wanted to say more, but I'm telling you I get nervous around her. Right as she was about to leave I grabbed her soft hands without any thinking. and I blurted out, "Hey, Reva. I think you are the most gorgeous girl I've ever seen. I really mean it." Embarrassing? She blushed cutely and said," I've never had a stranger say something so kind and that didn't sexually abuse me. and Avion, I have to say you have one beautiful face yourself." She smiled lightly and bit her lip. Reva turned around and started walking out the aisle. I couldn't help to check her out. Then, I turned away and opened my door with number thirteen engraved and walked into my room. I was surprised. Reva was right. They made my room look so normal. The walls are solid red, black, and white. No windows, but lots of paintings, abstract ones. My favorite. Yes, I like art. Not common around foot ball players. The left side of my room was a small kitchen. Granite countertops, high technological utilities, and cooking ware that has got to be at least worth a house. I turn to my right and my bed is in a spacious room. I walk into my room and its all white with a black spiral on the ceiling. The bed was massive. Reminded me of heaven. I smiled and I walked into the bathroom. I stripped off bare to take a shower and I checked myself out in the mirror. Football players usually have nice muscles like I do. eight packs, big guns, and broad shoulders. I'm pretty sexy. I take a shower and change into fresh clothes from a walk-in-closet. I jump into my bed and I tell myself, "It's been weird for the eight hours. One thing I learned is that I'm more prideful than I thought I was." Seriously. I don't see myself as a sexy beast who has everything that everyone wants. I see myself as infected, corrupted, and as a fool. Why did I open that cage? Would have the parasite been able to enter my rain if I hadn't been so corrupted? My eyes started closing with drowsiness and I fall into darkness. I imagine a white room and I see a red figure in the center. I walk towards it and my head all the sudden, started violently shaking again like I did in the classroom. I cry and I shout out in the silent room for help. The red figure come near and it appears to look like a tiny awful looking creature. It almost lloks like floating blood that has tentacles and a small transparent sphere in its head. It comes closer and flinch. It all the sudden dissolves in my head. I start screaming again in unbearable pain. I hear several quite footsteps. I roll over as I'm on the floor to see who it is. It's I think ten members of Spiracle XIII. I yelling pain, " Please do something! Get the parasite out! It will take over me!!" I moan in fear and my mouth feels dry. All ten of them just stare at me. And from memory I think number four, Kaizer's wife, Clvone tells me, " You are too dangerous. If you live you will be an uncontrollable freak. We will just let you die. We will wait until the parasite takes form and kill it." I shake in terror. "Please no! Take it out!!!" Dixon speaks with no emotion," I saw the future. You are the only remaining member of Spiracle XIII. I will not allow you to obliterate each one of us." I cry in pain and its agonizing. I'm a guy alright, but if you felt what I felt at this moment, you'd do the same. Suddenly, huge flames envelope the members. They scream and Xion tries to extinguish the flame with her water abilities, but it was too late. She had no water around her. Yelling rants in the air, they slowly die. I could not believe I saw ten people die at once. I roll over to my other side and I see Reva trembling and holding out her hands in despair. I smell blood in the air and crinkle my nose at the terrible smell. I'm a murder. I killed ten people in a matter of seconds. Avox has reached its adult stage. My nightmare came to reality.

CHAPTER FIVE: Bloodbath

I wake up in heavy sweat. I forcibly inhale air and I start shaking. my head screams in pain. It's like someone stabbing thousands of knives in your head. I hear my door break open and footsteps shuffle quickly towards my direction. Its Reva. She says quickly, " Ok hold still, Avion. I'm going to take out the Avox with this." It was a needle I think with three red tubes attached. She sinks it into the center of my brain and I felt like I died over and over. I cry and I can hardly feel the muscles in my body and it throbbing to even think. "It's starting to leave your brain. Avion, stay with me! It's almost done." After I heard these words, I felt stronger. I fortified myself for the next anguishing moments. It was horrible. My head felt like it was ripping apart and I started to have seizure. Reva grabs my arms and shouts, "Do not go to sleep! Don't think! You will trigger the nightmare ability. You will hurt more people." I tried to stay awake, but my eyes were arrogant. they wanted to rest in peace. I felt Reva's lips upon mine all the sudden. Her lips are soft and warm. I felt like my stomach exploded with butterflies. I felt happy. I embrace her. I force my weak arms around her body and we kiss for a long time. She passionately moved her lips with mine creating a rhythm. And she pulled back and said," I love you Avion. I may not have known you for years, but I've never felt such love for someone. You saved my life. And I don't want you to leave me." She tears up and sits up on the broken bed. I force myself to sit up and I replied weakly, " I love you, too Reva. You just saved my life. I will never forget that. I promise I won't leave." Then I pause and ask," And what did you mean by 'saved me'?" She looked at me with her vibrant green eyes, "I have been in this rat hole for three years. I missed my chance to compete in the World Cheerleading Championships, my family died in a terrible fire because of my reckless control over my powers, and I've never felt happy. You killed ten of these horrible people that put Revox in me. These heartless souls are full of greed and corruption. Your nightmare was my life preserver." So the nightmare really did happen. I killed ten people unconsciously. "What happened? Did they burn to death like I dreamed?", I asked. " Yes. the night mare controlled my abilities and destroyed all ten of them. It was morbid." , she answered with a shiver. "Wait what about Kaizer and Ovon?", I questioned. Reva thought a moment, then replied, " You didn't see them in your dream right? Well, Lex created this parasite to Kaizer's advantage. Kaizer knew you would be feared of him. And the things that you fear most that don't take part. It s the things that you are unconscious to that take part." I absorb the information I received. And it made sense. I never thought of the other ten members. I was truly afraid Ovon and Kaizer. Reva explains to me how we have to escape before Kaizer and Reva plan to take revenge for their losses. She is right on this, too. I killed Kaizer's wife and Ovon's "family". Reva helps me up and treats my injuries. she gives antibiotics for my head and flesh wounds. I feel instantly better and we start running out of the room into the aisle. "Kaizer fights with of course gravitation so outsmart him and attck him from behind. It's his blind spot. Plus, he is also poor at close combat." I nodded and e keep running till we reach the dining room and we were about to exit the meeting room until we jerked up in the air. Zero gravity. Kaizer found us. We might die. Kaizer has ferocity in his gray eyes and shouts in anger, " You killed my wife! You shall see the last minutes of your life!" He charges at us passing the thrones and into the center.

Reava spins in the air with grace. I jumped as high as I could to dodge his amateur blows. Kaizer then runs to the left wall and scales it with skill and uncases a knife and targets it into Reva's heart. Reva parries his hand with her hidden dagger also. He back flips and shoot out multiple fireballs out of her hands. several of them miss , but a few landed on Kaizer's chest. I run behind him to land a hit on his head, but he slides to left fast and grabs my wrist and throws me to the other side of the room. My spine cracks and I whimper. Reva shouts my name and she growls. Reva sprints and engulfs her whole body in flames and body slams Kaizer. Kaizer shrieks in pain and I smell burnt blood. I get uo to see if Reva killed him, but Kaizer stands up and does a hand motion. The gravity gets extremely heavy. Reva groans and slowly moves her feet with all her strength to fight the gravity and she inhales deeply and shoots out a massive flame from her mouth like a dragon. Kaizer couldn't move and finds himself incinerated and dead. The gravity slowly returns to normal. And I start walking towards Reva. Reva cries, "I killed someone ..but, someone who should be." I say in comfort, "Its alright Reva, I'm here for you." I smile and kiss her forehead. Electricity sparks above us. Ovon found us. Reva motions me to run, but I stay to defend her. Ovon runs in blinding speed to apporoach us. my shoulders tense and I was ready to feel electricity run through my temple. Ovon instead stops about sixty meters away from where I'm kneeling. "I knew this was going to happen. Lex and Kaizer should have withhold the Avox plan.", he says flatly. I charge at him with all my strength and I unconsciously sent tons of rubble shooting at Ovon. Ovon creates a a huge spark and deflects every single piece of earth. " I have more experience than you, Avion. Just give up." Comment like this in football usually pissed me off and I am going to shut him up. "Don't call me Avion!! My name is Stephen Chase! ", I howl in anger. My hands feel like as if they are magnets attracting metal. The floor shakes and Reva moans unconscious on the floor. I forgot that she was internally bleeding. I have to speed this up. I forced all of my strength into my telepathic powers and several sections of rubble, broken shards of vases, and pieces of the thrones float in the air, I move my hands from high up in the air and move my hands in Ovon's direction. Ovon terrified, I send every single piece of earth shooting like bullets at Ovon. He sprints sonically, but doesn't make it. I just killed my Physics teacher. The eleventh person in less than three hours. I run to Reva and I shake with fear. "Reva, are you with me?!" She nods. Huge relief runs over me and I try to find antibiotics in her pockets of her ruined black jacket and her dark jeans. I found a small vial and I unscrew the top. " Reva ", I say thoughtfully. I drop the blue liquid on the huge wound on her stomach. The skin starts healing rapidly and the blood burns in the air in process of patching up her scar. It was incredible. Spiracle XIII were well equipped. Reva opens her eyes and whispers, "You saved the day, Superman." She smiles adorably. I let out a happy sigh. I hold Reva in my arms and lean in to kiss her. She reaches me first and kisses me with a new tone. This time it was more with ferocity and I fall on the floor kissing her. She puts her hand in the front of my shirt and touches my sore abdominals. I embrace with her and I break away. I put my fingers through her fiery hair and told her, "Reva, what is your real name?" "Tess. my mother named me that because she said it symbolized divine beauty." , she said with a smile. "Well Tess, will you marry me?" Yes it's ridiculous that I'm asking her at the age sixteen, but no one remembers us. I love her and she's all I want.
