The length of the hand spans from the wrist (rascettes of the bracelette) to the tips of the fingers. 2. One should see the left hand for of a persons below 15 years for interpretation. The age of fifteen is not a hard and fast rule, it could go up to 18 to 20 years of age, if the subject has not entered the stage of a calling or vocation. 3. The left hand represent ancestral rites or accumulated actions of the past. 4. Characteristics of a lucky hand:

In the above shloka he states that the hand is warm, the colour is reddish, the fingers attached to each other and there is no gap between them. The palm is not wet with perspiration. The hand is large, strong, smooth and copper colour, smooth fingers with almond shaped nails.

5. There should be three to four clear rascettes of the Bracelette, strongly bound and smooth on the wrist. If the wrist is weak and the rascettes are not clear and broken, then the native will be poor and full of sorrow.

6. The hand of a prosperous person will be reddish. If the colour is bluish, then he used to intoxication. If it is greyish and muddy, then native is impoverished. 7. A person with an elevated palm is generous. 8. If the palm is hollow, then he is deprived of his father's wealth. 9. After spreading the hand, if the palm has muscles, then he is a rich man. 10. If the centre of the palm is full of ups and downs (not even) then he is bereft of wealth. 11. If the back portion of the palm is broad, stout, smooth, etc. it is the subject god results. If the back portion of the palm is elevated than the fore arm and the veins are not seen, then it is a very good sign for the subject. 12. If the portion behind the palm is without lustre, dry with pores and hairs, veins protruding, in level with the wrist or below it, then one gets bad results. 13. If the base of the wrist is flat or low, then one is stingy.

14. If the wrist is very small, uneven or too large, it is not good for the native. 15. If the lines are fine, well-formed and in the shape of a cave or a bee, then it is good for the native.
