This is how number 47 Mushroom Lane looked in 1891.


1. Look at the tools used for washing clothes. What do you think each one was for? Dolly Tub? Posser? Washboard? 2. How do you do the washing at home? 3. There is a tin bath hanging on the wall. In 1891 there were no showers or baths like we have today. How often do you think people had a bath?

4. How do you think they heated the water for a bath?
