(being part of Adventures Among The Fairie Folk)

Oaflaf, with rising conviction and terror and fighting the pain gripping his stout heart... SCREAMED! Twas not a sound oft heard in those lands, at least not, as discussed many times since, in an age. Its effect was immediate. The Fairie throng, felled by deafening silence, turned all eyes, fearful now, on their Magi. ... Slowly at first but with mounting ire Fools! You are as blind as an Elf child or cursed son of Adam. You bicker and discuss matters of the heart as if these are the issues that the Fairie clans need debate. He paused coughing. A guttural sound and thick blood splatted before him. He wore the silence like a heavy cloak around his shoulders Comforting to him only. At last he bellowed This stranger, it matters not his intent in love or life It matters not his status or breed or even his physical desires that corrupt and repulse so. Now he knew he had them. Ready they were for prophesies old and long forgot.

Andy Bushnell 12/7/2011 2 There is a prophesy, so old it has passed from common lore. Yet it fits this time and yes - this stranger, with uncanny distaste Hear all then, the Prophesy of Ages, as made by Queen Sidh, so many aeons past. Hear and awake from your foolishness... A day will come to pass, many ages in the morrow, when Fairie-kin, no longer meddle in the affairs of the Sons of Adam. Nor play mischief with the dark brownies or Goblin-folk. The coming of a stranger will mark the end. A thief and warrior sure, despite his limp and smile. He comes with three faces masked by magic old and new. The heart of a Princess pure will be plucked and sacrifice dearly. What then this stranger who stumbles blindly, between worlds. Like no giant of old this. Bare witness children of the morrow... a multitude of black eyes, with ragged swords extended and breaths baying for blood descend upon thee, seeking this thief of treasures stolen. Turmoil and death acquaintances renewed will lead you into this maelstrom. But only one can show the path to salvation.

Andy Bushnell 12/7/2011 3 Silence lingered after the last words were uttered. Then a cacophony of wailing, both angered and fearful, sobs, and yes screams, filled the void. At last, Oaflaf permitted himself a wry smile.
