1. Teacher revises what students have learnt in the previous lesson. 2. Teacher asks several questions to the students to do little revision.

Lesson Development (20minutes) 1. Teacher guide pupils to do addition of decimals to revise their understanding of addition involving decimal numbers. 2. Teacher shows picture of several items with the mass of the item shown in the card. 3. Teacher asks pupils to read the masses written on the card and guide them to find the total mass. 4. Guide pupils to write the number sentence vertically. 5. Discuss and workout the operation.

6. Teacher proceeds with other

examples involving units of mass without conversion.

7. Teacher guide pupils to add units

of mass (single unit) then convert it

to required units. Examples:

Then, convert the answer to kg using division skills. Stress to pupils that 1kg=1000g 8. Guide pupils to add units of mass involving compound units with answer in compound units.

Group Activity 1. Teacher gives exercise in the workbook for the students to do in pairs. 2. They will discuss to answer the question given. Class practice 3. Pupils will complete exercise in their activity book. Closure (5 minutes) 1. Teacher asks the pupils about what they had learnt. 2. Teacher asks several more questions for the pupils to answer spontaneously.
