Faculty Review

The Faculty Course Review Report for EE-209 Digital Logic Design highlights student feedback indicating the course is generally perceived as easy but requires thorough coverage of content due to its foundational nature in Electrical Engineering. The report suggests increasing in-class quizzes to enhance student motivation and emphasizes the need for more examples and exercises to aid understanding. Overall, the instructor aims to adapt teaching methods to better engage students in an online learning environment.

1) Student (Course Evaluation) Questionnaires

Student feedback

Generally students consider Digital Logic Design as easy course of Electrical engineering.
Since it is fundamental course for Electrical engineering, and also prerequisite to many other
courses, so instructor is required to be cover all the contents mentioned in course outline. For this
instructor have to skim or skip some unimportant parts which is hard for some students to keep
themselves synchronized with the class.
Other than course content, students are generally satisfied with the type of online assessments and
online teaching methods etc.

2) Curriculum: comment on the continuing appropriateness of the Course curriculum in

relation to the intended learning outcomes (course objectives) and its compliance with the
HEC Approved / Revised National Curriculum Guidelines

As mentioned before, this is very important course for Electrical engineering. And this course falls
under three Program learning outcomes (PLO’s): PLO-1 (Engineering Knowledge) and PLO-2
(Problem Analysis) and PLO-3 (Design/Development of solution.
The design PLO in my opinion, (PLO-3) should not be considered for this important Electrical
Engineering course. Since students are in first year of their four year education where they are
actively learning new theoretical concepts and certainly not able to design complex engineering
projects. For this reason, I intentionally have less emphasis on design projects.

3) Assessment: comment on the continuing effectiveness of method(s) of assessment in

relation to the intended learning outcomes (Course objectives)
In this semester, one mid-terms were conducted with six quizzes and three assignments and one
project. This number of assessments is adequate for online assessments which are quite hard.
However to keep the students motivated, it is recommended to increase the number of in class
quizzes and viva.

4) Enhancement: comment on the implementation of changes proposed in earlier

5) Outline any changes in the future delivery or structure of the Course that this
semester/term’s experience may prompt
Instructor of this import EE course have to cover allot of new concepts in ~36 lecture therefore, it
is strongly recommend to emphasis on book examples and exercise questions to make these
concepts absorb by the students. Tutorial sessions may be helpful in these cases.

6) Class control and feedback about the students:

Students are generally respectful and have potential to learn new information. However in online
education, it is hard for instructor to get immediate feedback from students and to know about
their needs. I tried my best, while asking questions during lecture to get them involve in learning
process.
