Q.1 Find the magnitude of the gradient of the function 𝑓 = 𝑥𝑦𝑧 at (1,0,2).
Q.2 Define the gradient and directional derivative of a function. Find the
directional derivative of 𝑓(𝑥, 𝑦, 𝑧) = 𝑥 + 𝑦 + 𝑧 at the point (1,2,3) in the
direction of 3i+4j+10k
Q.3 Define Curl and Divergence of vector. Prove the following vector identity
div(u x v) =v.curl u- u. curl v.
Q.4 If f=𝑥 𝑧 𝑖 − 2𝑦 𝑧 𝑗 + 𝑥𝑦 𝑧 𝑘 . find div f at (1,-1,1).
Q.5 If r=sint i + cost j + k. find : and also its magnitude.
