Preliminary Lesson: peace lessons(i.e. feelings, give a smile), conversation rug, modeling compliments to each children upon arrival or throughout the day, group brainstorming session about examples of compliments Materials for Lesson: fancy/special mirror, tiles printed with compliment words, tray Goals: Direct voicing positive messages to yourself Indirect concentration, independence, increase self-esteem Nomenclature: positive, message, compliment Lesson Demonstration: 1. Set up demonstration table or rug 2. Bring tray to work space 3. Pick up mirror and gaze into it dramatically 4. Give yourself a compliment and self-affirming message i.e. Your hair looks wonderful today. And I love you. 5. Pause to absorb and appreciate your words 6. Return the mirror to the tray 7. Return the tray to the shelf
