The SRC President,
St. John Bosco’s College of Education
Navrongo.
: Letter of Resignation.
Dear President,
It is with a heavy heart and deep regret that I, on behalf of the Electoral Commission (EC) Board, formally
tender our resignation from our positions with immediate effect. This decision has not been made lightly,
as we have always been committed to serving the student body with integrity and dedication. However, the
persistent challenges and untenable working conditions we have faced in our attempts to organize this
year’s SRC General Elections have left us with no other choice.
Over the past few months, our efforts to fulfill our constitutional mandate have been met with numerous
obstacles. Despite our best intentions and tireless efforts, our attempts to organize the elections have been
shut down four times by the SRC Board without any tangible or justifiable reason. This has not only
hindered the electoral process but has also caused significant frustration and disillusionment among
members of the EC Board.
Furthermore, the consistent failure of the Finance Committee to release funds for the election processes
on time has severely hampered our ability to carry out our duties effectively. Despite our repeated appeals
and written requests, the necessary financial support has not been provided, leaving us in a position where
we cannot proceed with the electoral process as planned.
In addition to these logistical challenges, we have faced a profound disregard for the authority and
autonomy of the EC Board. The SRC Board has consistently controlled 100% of our decisions, leaving us
with no meaningful input or room to exercise our responsibilities independently. This lack of trust and
collaboration has made it impossible for us to function effectively and has undermined the credibility of the
EC Board.
Moreover, the working environment has become increasingly hostile, with some members of the SRC Board
subjecting us to verbal abuse and disrespect. This behavior has not only been demoralizing but has also
created an atmosphere of tension and mistrust, making it difficult for us to carry out our duties with the
dignity and professionalism we strive to uphold.
Perhaps most disheartening has been the SRC Board’s attempt to inform students to disregard forms
issued by the EC Board for candidates contesting in the elections. This action has further eroded our
credibility and authority, leaving us in a position where we can no longer effectively fulfill our mandate.
Given these circumstances, we feel it is in the best interest of the student body and the institution for us to
step aside. We do not wish to continue in a process where we may be unfairly blamed for outcomes
beyond our control, nor do we wish to remain in a role where our efforts are consistently undermined. It is
our sincere hope that our resignation will prompt the necessary reforms to strengthen the electoral process
and ensure that future EC Boards can operate with the autonomy, respect, and support they deserve.
We thank you for the opportunity to serve the student body and the institution. It has been an honor to
contribute to the democratic processes of St. John Bosco’s College of Education. We leave with humility
and a deep sense of responsibility, hoping that our decision will lead to positive change and a brighter
future for the student community.
Yours faithfully,
