Mono Resume is designed using two typefaces -
Montserrat and Fira Sans.
Montserrat
This font can be downloaded for FREE at
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/montserrat
Type version used are:

MONTSERRAT BOLD
Fira Sans
This font can be downloaded for FREE at
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/fira-sans

Please note:
Fonts are not created by us and the owners may choose
to update the font design, location of the download or
limit the availability of the free versions. If you experience
any problem, please let us know at feedback@ikono.me
so we can update the files.

ICONS
Mono Resume includes 50+ icons which can be found
in the folder ‘Icons’

BACKGROUND
IMAGE
A sample background image is supplied in the folder Images.
You can add your own image by simply replacing the 1
smart object found in the layered Adobe Photoshop
document called Background_Image.psd
IMPORTANT
If you are using the Adobe Photoshop version of the
resume templates then you will find these layers directly
in the Adobe Photoshop template files.

Adding your own image
1 Open Background_Image.psd
Navigate to the green highlighted layer labelled

ADD IMAGE HERE. Double click the smart object icon.
Copy and Paste your image in to the smart object
and then Save and Close the file. The smart object
will be updated automatically on the main document. 2
3 A layer is provided which overlays a grey tone to
the image you may want to remove this if you use
a colour image.
4 Save the image as Background_Image.jpg
so you can update the linked files in Adobe
Indesign and Illustrator documents.

The Adobe Illustrator documents are created in 1
A4 and US Letter sizes. Colours are CMYK.
The multi-page Adobe Illustrator (ai and eps) document.
Grid
The layout grid is provided on an additional layer.
The grid layer is not visible by default.
To turn it on, navigate to the LAYERS palette and

click to show the eye icon on the Grid layer.
Changing Colour
The document is provided in monotone versions but
you can quickly edit the colour swatches in the
document to any colour you want by changing the 2
colour swatch values.
Select any colour swatch icon, double click it

and then add new colour values and then OK.
Font Styles
The document includes a number of clearly labelled

character styles to quickly change type attributes.
Header Image
The header image can be found in the folder Images. 3

ADOBE INDESIGN

The Adobe Indesign documents are created in
A4 and US Letter sizes. Colours are CMYK.
The Adobe InDesign document has three page designs. 1
Master Page
The master pages contains the three header designs and
contains the elements common to all pages. Any changes
on these pages will automatically update on pages.
To edit each of the master pages, double click

the EDIT ME master page icon.
Changing Colour
The document is provided in monotone versions but

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP

The Adobe Photoshop documents are created in 1
A4 and US Letter sizes. Colours are CMYK.
Guidelines
The Photoshop document feature guidelines to

quickly align any items. The document includes 5mm
bleeds, trim areas are indicated by the outer guides.
Photoshop layers
Each document contains clearly labelled layers and layer
groups so you can quickly navigate to the item you need. 2
Each Adobe Photoshop files contains Header 3

and Footer layer groups which contain the elements
common to all pages.
Inside the Header group you will find the logo design

contained in layer groups Logo 1, Logo 2 and Logo 3.
The Header group also contains the layers to 2

add your own image. Double click the smart object

ADD IMAGE HERE. Copy and Paste your image
in to this layer and then Save and Close the file.
The main document will be automatically updated.
All page designs are in the layer groups -

Page 1 - Letter, Page 2 - Resume, and
Page 3 - Portfolio. The content for each page
is contained within these layer groups.
TIP
You can quickly navigate the layers of each item by
checking the ‘Auto Select’ box. When activated you
can simply select the item you want to change by
clicking on it.

MICROSOFT WORD

The Microsoft Word documents are created in .docx 1
format for both A4 and US Letter sizes.
Header options
Mono Resume word version is supplied in 3 different
documents. Each of these versions has a different
header design, the body of the templates is common
to all documents.
Pages
Each word documents include the three following pages:
1 Cover letter page
2 Resume page

3 Portfolio page
Header and Footer
The word documents feature both a header

and footer design which is common to all pages.
To edit this double click on an item in either the
header or footer and edit the content. These
changes will now applied on all pages.
Skills Circles and Icons
We have included an extra document in the word folder
which has more skill circle options and all the icons.
‘Mono_Resume_Skills_Circles_Icons.docx’.

PDF FILES
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word
1 Choose File > Save As
2 From the Save As dialog box in the Format
drop-down menu select PDF format
3 Select the PDF preset you require from the
drop-down Adobe PDF preset:

drop-down menu select PDF format

Which Adobe PDF setting should I choose? 1
Professional Press Quality
You will need a High Resolution PDF for

professional printing. Set the PDF format to
PDF/X1a:2001. Check first with your print
shop, as they may have specific PDF settings
to integrate with their printing systems.
Online and Email
For online viewing and email you may need

to optimise the file for smaller file size.
To compress the pdf to its smallest size use
the Smallest File Size setting.

To make a multi-page PDF you can use Adobe Acrobat,
