seen at right.
3. Laminate the chart for long-term use.
4. Use string or strong tape to hang the chart at the front of
the classroom.
5. Write your students’ names on each clothespin. Put
clothespins on the “Ready to Learn” part
Instructions: To Use
Students will move up or down depending on the choices they make. Students will move down if
they break a rule and move up if they make a good choice. Remember to recognize positive
behavior more than the negative behavior.

Every day, let the students begin with their clips on “Ready to Learn.” If they break a rule, they will move down to
“Warning.” If they break another rule, they will move down to “Think About It” where they reflect on the choices
they have made. If they break another rule, they move to “Teacher’s Choice,” where the teacher will decide what
consequence the student will receive depending on the severity of their behavior.

Sample Consequences:
- 10 Minutes off Recess
- Negative Note Home
- Parent Phone Call
- Less Free Time
- Go to the Office

If the student does not break any rules and instead makes great choices such as helping other people, cleaning
their area very well, and showing respect they can move up to “Good Day” and then “Excellent.” These students
may receive a reward of the teacher’s choosing.

Sample Rewards:
- Extra Free Time
- Sit with a Friend
- Amco Dollars
- Positive Note Home
- Positive Phone Call
- Take a Silly Picture
