A conceptual framework is described as a set of broad ideas and principles taken from relevant fields of enquiry and used to structure a subsequent presentation (Reichel & Ramey, 1987)

A conceptual framework is used in research to outline possible courses of action or to present a preferred approach to an idea or thought. Conceptual frameworks (theoretical frameworks) are a type of intermediate theory that attempt to connect to all aspects of inquiry (e.g., problem definition, purpose, literature review, methodology, data collection and analysis). Conceptual frameworks can act like maps that give coherence to empirical inquiry. Because conceptual frameworks are potentially so close to empirical inquiry, they take different forms depending upon the research question or problem.

A working hypothesis

Working hypothesis is made when there is lesser data at hand. We assume things in working hypothesis it is made upon assumptions. Working hypothesis is an independent variable. Working hypothesis is a hypothesis that is provisionally accepted when no alternatives are available or when the philosophical implications of the alternatives are considered to be absurd or otherwise undesirable. Like all hypotheses, a working hypothesis can be constructed as a statement of expectations. For example conjectures in mathematics propositions which appear to be true but which are formally unproven. Very often, conjectures will be provisionally accepted as working hypotheses in order to investigate its consequences and formulate conditional proofs.

Descriptive Categories: Explore the relationship between different categories with structural characteristics of conceptions. It includes coding, grouping and labeling the structural characteristics. In this we group and classify our own thoughts and concepts into categories and then we work on it and create relationship between them. In this type the information of the data is grouped in to different categories. This type of conceptual framework in used in descriptive research the main goal of this type of research is to describe the data and characteristics about what is being studied. Descriptive research answers the questions who, what, where, when and how...

Practical ideal types: Practical ideal type is a dummy model which is created of certain scenario to see the outcome. Dummy model is not actual but we come to know about its outcome. It is mainly used in practical orientated research.

Models of Operations research: Collection of logical and mathematical relationships that represents the situation under study. In pure science it is very easy to make operational research.

Formal hypothesis:

Formal hypothesis is single and on this the whole research is based. It is depending upon the working hypothesis. Formal hypothesis is on solid statements and with valid conclusions and it is made when we have facts and figures.
