Pollution around the world is becoming a serious problem.
You think it is a problem that should be
solved internationally or locally?
Pollution is a major issue causing concerns worldwide. In order to tackle this issue governments and
industries alike should research and provide solutions both domestically and globally; striking a balance
between the local needs and global needs would help to reduce or end pollution. This may be a judicious
approach to this modern challenge.
Firstly, in order to address this issue, the most efficient way is for local authorities to research what
causes the most pollutions in their territory. For examples, in some cities cars are the main cause of
pollution; whereas in other areas manufacturing industries are the primary factor. In some countries, like
India, local authorities have implemented solutions that are feasible for their domestic needs.
Nevertheless, cities like Mumbai or Delhi, still face serious challenges as it pertains to pollution.
Consequently, implementing domestic regulation to tackle the pollution is not sufficient. Global
regulations and policies are necessary if/in the scenario where we want to decrease pollution worldwide
dramatically/drastically.
Countries these days are globally intertwined, governments worldwide should find viable ways to
implement international laws and regulation that mandates countries to uphold the law. In light of
recent years, climate challenges and health issues have been exacerbated by the increase of pollution.
Authorities should leave the red tape behind and find the most judicious way to solve the issue. Only a
few Climate Change Summits are not enough anymore, there should be a committee that is responsible
for international laws and regulations for industry pollutions.
In conclusion, while pollution is an issue worldwide, it is not without remedy. A balance needs to be
struck in order for us to tackle this problem. This requires local authorities and governments to work
symbiotically.
