BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION.

The lecture focuses on gathering information about individuals in very discreet manner related to strategies and approaches. Effective steps and techniques in the gathering of information and the various sources of information are also included in the module. Conducting property check on a person is also part of the lecture. Part and parcel of seminar devoted to making believable cover stories are included so that the informants will not know that the investigators are already getting information from them out of discreet inquiry. SURVEILLANCE AND UNDERCOVER. This topic is primarily designed to educate the participants on the importance of surveillance and undercover strategy. This topic further provides different ways and means of monitoring a person or a group of persons activities with the view to determine their lifestyle and past activities. It gives a clear idea to guide the participants about the techniques in monitoring and trailing the subject discreetly. The process is to gather information relevant to the mission as well as to gather important pieces of evidence needed for court proceedings. PHYSICAL AND VERBAL CLUES OF LYING. In this topic, the attendees are taught about common lying gestures and other physical indications of deception. This is for them to easily detect when an individual is lying based not only on their written and spoken statements, but also on their body language. This lecture aims to educate the participants on the importance of lie detector test, including how it works, and its various uses. This also comprises a discussion on who uses lie detector testing. This gives a clear account on how the instrument helps the captains of business and industry in decision-making and in deterring fraud and dishonesty in the workplace. INVESTIGATIVE INTERVIEW. This course gives clear insights about the interview technique/s and how it differs from interrogation. It also covers the art of Situation-Action Response (SAR) as well as its ways and procedures. Further, it teaches basic interview techniques and statement analysis so as to uncover the unspoken lies. At the end of this course, the participants will have clear and thorough idea on how to conduct the interview without intimidating the interviewees. INVESTIGATIVE INTERROGATION. This lecture aims to impart approaches on actual interrogation. It includes direct and positive interrogation, theme development, handling denials, overcoming objections, procurement and retention of a suspects attention, handling the suspects passive mood, presenting alternative question, having the subject orally relate various details of the offense, and converting an oral confession into a written confession. FORGERY DETECTION. This seminar teaches the participants on the methods of verifying the authenticity of documents. This also focuses on distinguishing genuine signatures from imitation by their characteristics: slant, alignment,

proportion, and strokes (SAPS). Consider also line quality, natural variation, tremors, and initial and technical strokes. FINGERPRINT ANALYSIS. Characteristics, uses, and principles of fingerprinting are some of the major points to be tackled under this topic. It also aims to teach the participants the procedures in fingerprint lifting including tips on where to look for them. A comparative analysis of the latent and standard fingerprinting is also taught in this seminar to determine any variances from the ridges on both specimens. ANATOMY OF BURGLARY. This course teaches the participants about special equipment and gadgets that are used to heighten security measures and how this action plan usually works. Other up-to-date equipment to monitor and counter invaders are also shown. High-tech gadgets are also presented during the lecture to have a clearer discussion. CYBER CRIME INVESTIGATION. This particular topic aims to impart a clear understanding of cyber crimes as well as legal recommendations related to these problems. It includes a discussion on intellectual property rights infringement vs. cyber forensic investigation, the cyber crime bills, and e-data and national security. It also gives a clear picture of cyber stalking, phishing, and child pornography. FINANCIAL FRAUD SCHEMES. This helps investigators know their limits as well as the extent of evidence gathering and preserving techniques.
