1.0 INTRODUCTION
MSU College Kota Bharu will be hosting English Day 2025, organized by the
Professional English (UCS1363) course. The event will take place on 21 May 2025 at
Dewan A0-1, MSU College Kota Bharu, and is open to all students at the college. The
theme, "Talk, Laugh, Learn - in English!", is designed to celebrate the English language
and provide students with a fun and interactive way to practice and improve their
language skills. The Professional English course understands how important English
is for both academic success and career development. To create a lively and engaging
atmosphere, the event will feature activities such as role-plays, impromptu speaking
challenges, and vocabulary games, all aimed at encouraging active participation and
boosting confidence. These activities will not only be enjoyable but also help students
build essential communication skills for the global workforce, especially in fields like
culinary arts, where effective communication is crucial. English Day 2025 will provide
students with opportunities to practice real-world language use, promote teamwork,
and develop critical thinking skills, ultimately supporting their growth as confident,
creative, and globally-minded communicators.
2.0 OBJECTIVE
• Improve English Skills: Provide students with opportunities to boost their English
skills through fun and interactive activities.
• Build Confidence: Encourage students to practice using English in real-life
situations, helping them feel more confident in speaking and overcoming language
barriers.
• Encourage Active Participation: Get students involved in exciting activities like
role-plays, impromptu speaking, and vocabulary games, creating a strong sense
of community and engagement among MSU students.
• Foster Creativity : Allow students to express their creativity while practicing their
speaking and communication skills in English.
• Develop Communication Skills : Help students improve their communication
skills such as speaking, listening, and vocabulary which are essential for success
in both their studies and future careers.

• Spelling Bee / Quiz:
A fun and educational competition where students challenge their vocabulary, spelling,
and general knowledge. It encourages quick thinking and enhances language skills,
making it both a competitive and enjoyable learning experience.
• Role-Play Skits:
Students form small groups to perform short English dialogues, focusing on real-world
situations, particularly in hospitality and culinary arts. This activity helps improve
conversational fluency, pronunciation, and teamwork.
• One-Minute Talk Challenge:
Students speak spontaneously on random topics for one minute. It builds confidence,
sharpens public speaking skills, and encourages creative thinking in both formal and
informal settings.
