After working for 10 years in advertising and then moving with her expatriate husband to Hong Kong, Rina Poerwadi decided to learn a skill she could take with her wherever the family was assigned. She chose holistic aromatherapy; for those of us not quite in the know, the treatment is described by essential-oil-recipes.com as, a subtle, sensitive aromatherapy with a powerful side, incorporating the use of 100 percent pure essential oil. The treatment works on the whole person, taking into account factors such as their lifestyle, diet, medical history, emotional and mental state, as well as their physical side. Everybody can get benets from holistic aromatherapy, but we should pay attention to the contraindication the client might have. For example, we must be really careful when dealing with a woman who is four months pregnant and use special oils to treat her, she said. Babies, the elderly, couples, basically everyone can benet from it. It only depends on their purpose for doing it. We have to really understand what the client wants from the therapy. One of her patients is a child with autism. I cant say that it will work 100 percent. It really depends on the person, and in this case, it also depends on how the parents look at the issue, she said.
