Sofia’s BIO (b. 2001)

Sofia was born in Adrogué and raised in Claypole. Since she was little, music has been
her favorite escape. She doesn’t mind if she cannot sing, because for her, singing is
joy, not perfection. She sees the world in layers, always looking deeper, beyond what’s
obvious. That’s where the magic is.

Her journey with English began quietly, with songs she couldn’t stop replaying,
phrases she tried to repeat, and shows she didn’t fully understand but still loved
watching. She didn’t learn in the “perfect” way, but in her own way, through feeling,
listening, trying again, and never giving up. That’s what made her fall in love with the
language.

Now she’s studying to become an English teacher. For her, teaching is about more
than grammar or vocabulary. It’s about connection, confidence, and helping others
find their voice in a new language. She hopes to be the kind of teacher who sees her
students the way she sees the world: with patience, care, and curiosity.

Sofia also loves writing letters to the people she cares about, not because she thinks
she’s the best writer, but because she writes with heart. She believes in strength, in
kindness, and in expressing what you feel. Her words are a quiet place to rest, reflect,
and dream.

These pieces of who she is, her voice, her dreams, her way of seeing, often find their
way into her writing. In her poem, Sofia explores what it means to be true to yourself,
even in quiet moments. The one below is a small reflection of that: a window into how
she feels, and how she finds beauty in being exactly who she is.

Poem: “Soft & Strong”

When I dream And I don’t try to hide it

With my eyes wide open I’m the strength I carry

I’m a song with no end I’m the things I believe

I’m a message I send I’m the way that I love

I’m a whisper at night And the truths I can’t leave

I’m a spark in the light I’m not always sure

I’m a voice that can sing But I’m always real.

Even if it’s not perfect And that, for me,

I’m a sky full of thoughts Is the best kind of feel.

Sofia Rolon.
