THE OET CENTRE TEST REGULATIONS

You must follow these regulations on the day of the Test. Test supervisors have the power to enforce these regulations. Any instructions they give must be followed carefully and quickly. You must bring to the Test the ID document you used when you applied for this Test. Your ID document must be current and the ID document details must match exactly the details you provided in your application for this Test; otherwise, you will not be allowed to sit the Test. In Australia, you must provide your current passport as proof of identity: no other type of photo identification will be accepted. Outside Australia, there is one exception: if your home country issues a National Identity Card and you are sitting the Test in that country, you may use your current National Identity Card as your ID document. You must bring your candidate number. It is not necessary to bring any printout from the OET Centre. We do not provide hall tickets. Large bags are not permitted at the test venue. You can take the following into the test room: pens, pencils, erasers, a pencil sharpener, a small bottle of water, your identification document. Highlighters/texters, mechanical pencils and correction fluid are not permitted. You must not have in your possession in the test room any bags, notes, study materials, mobile phones or other electronic devices. If such materials/devices are found in your possession, you will be required to leave the test room immediately and disqualified from the whole Test. No results will be issued. You are responsible for knowing where and when the OET will be administered and you must arrive at the venue in good time to take the Test. All instructions given by room/venue supervisors must be followed, including all instructions related to personal belongings. If you are not in the test room at the start of the Test, you will not be allowed to take the Test. The Test can last for a full three and a quarter hours. You may not leave the test room during this period. You must not copy another candidates work. You will be held responsible if your test papers are exposed so that other candidates can copy them. You must not cheat or engage in any other unfair, improper or dishonest behaviour. You are not allowed to communicate in any way with other candidates during the Test. If you need to talk to a supervisor, you should raise your hand. If you behave in a disruptive way, you will be required to leave the test room immediately. You must not attempt to record or reproduce any part of the Test. When the supervisor signals the end of a sub-test, you must stop writing immediately. You must make sure your name and candidate number are on each book/sheet you have used. You must hand all materials to the supervisor. You are not allowed to leave the exam room during the first 30 minutes of each sub-test or during the final 10 minutes of each sub-test. You will not be re-admitted to the test room unless you have been accompanied by a supervisor while outside the room. If you are found to be breaking any of these regulations, you may be disqualified for the whole Test. You may also be subject to further disciplinary action at the OET Centres discretion.
