Objective:
The aim of this session was to give students and faculty a practical introduction to copyrights—
what they are, how they work, and why they're important for anyone creating original content.
Whether it’s writing, music, coding, or digital design, the session focused on helping creators
protect their work and understand their rights.
Event Highlights
On 23rd April 2025, the IIC at AMGOI hosted a lively and insightful online masterclass titled
“Copy That! Copyrights Uncovered.” by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC),
This interactive session was specially designed to simplify the often-overlooked topic of
copyright protection and make it relevant for today’s students and educators.
The speaker—a seasoned expert in intellectual property—walked participants through the basics
of copyrights, the types of works that are protected, and the steps involved in registering a
copyright in India. What truly stood out were the relatable examples, real-life copyright

infringement cases, and tips on how creators can legally safeguard their content in the digital
world.The event struck a chord with students from creative fields and project-based learning
streams, and faculty members appreciated the clarity on legal aspects of sharing and publishing
academic content.
Key Outcomes
Participants gained a solid understanding of what can be copyrighted and how to register it.
The session sparked fresh thinking among students about protecting their own creative
work—from apps to artwork.
Faculty felt more confident guiding students on copyright-safe practices in research and
project submissions.
The session fostered a deeper appreciation of originality, ethical content use, and respect
for intellectual property rights.
