A. Objective
The objective of the project report is to help the student to develop ability to apply multidisciplinary concepts, tools and techniques to solve organizational problems. B.

Submission and approval of project proposal


Departmental Project Committee (DPC) will declare the broad areas for the project topics from which students shall choose a topic of their specialization area. The student shall submit project proposal in the form of Abstract (See Annexure IV) under the guidance of supervisor nominated by Head of the Department and shall make a presentation before a committee, called Departmental Project Committee (DPC) (See Annexure V). The student shall carry out the project in the fourth semester, only if the topic is approved by the DPC. The DPC may also reject the proposal if not found feasible and in such case, he /she shall submit the revised proposal. Project topic needs to be finalized and approved in the III semester only (as per given timeline see annexure VII). C. Project Work The student shall carry out his/her real project work in IV semester of M.B.A. on the topic that was approved in III semester. The DPC would sequentially conduct a progress meeting in a semester. Each student pursuing project work shall be expected to make two Progress report presentations and one final presentation before the DPC. The student is required to make the documentation about the developments made pertaining to his / her work, as per the timelines (see annexure VII), having valid references with approval from authorized supervisor. The supervisor shall certify that presentation by the candidate has been made and feasible suggestions have been incorporated. The concerned supervisor shall keep record of presentations by each student.

D) Criteria for Continuous Evaluation by the Committee in the Sequential Project Work:

The Project Report shall carry 200 marks. It will be evaluated by the external examiner on the basis of the following criteria/break-up of marks : - (As per MDU ordinance) 1. The project report will be evaluated by the internal examiner on the basis of the continuous evaluation of project work presentations. The criteria/break-up of marks for the internal evaluation is as follows: 1. First progress report presentation (Objectives and Methodology) 30 marks

Second progress report presentation (Data presentation & 40 marks 30 marks

Analysis) 3. Final project presentation

The candidate with award of Fail/Absent will have to repeat the project work. Requests for extension of deadlines for submission of documents or evaluation sheets will not be entertained irrespective of the reasons. 3

E) Structure of the final Project Report The length of the report may be about 60 to 80 pages typed in 1.5 line spacing not exceeding 15,000 words (excluding appendices and exhibits).
The typing should be done on both sides of the paper (instead of single side printing) The font size should be 12 with Times New Roman font. The Project Report may be typed in 1.5 line spacing. But the

References/Bibliography should be typed in single space. The paper should be A-4 size.

A total of three (3) copies (one for institute/departmental library, two copies for the submission to controller of examination with 1 soft copy in a CD) shall be submitted to the DDC. The print copies shall be duly signed by the supervisor (& co-supervisor if applicable). In case the report is not signed by the supervisor (& co-supervisor if applicable) the report shall be rejected by the DDC. F) Sequence of items in the Report The following sequence may be followed in the preparation of the final report: 1. Title Page 2. Declaration by the student 3. Certificate from the Supervisor 4. Abstract 5. Acknowledgements 6. (Detailed) Table of Contents (with page numbers). 7. List of Figures (with figure number, figure titles and page numbers) 8. List of Tables with table number, table title and page number. 9. Chapter 1: Introduction (Page No.1 should start with Chapter 1) 10. Chapter 2, 3, etc. 11. Summary 12. Conclusions and Recommendations 13. Directions for future work (if any) 14. Bibliography/References (As per APA format) 15. Appendices
Note: Please do not include any header or footer in any page of the report. Only page numbers should be mentioned at the bottom center of each page. Format for giving Bibliography or References as per APA format

K) Annexure-V DEPARTMENTAL PROJECT COMMITTEE (DPC)

The DPC shall be chaired by the Head of the Department. It shall comprise of the Professors and Associate Professors of the department.

There shall be minimum five members of DPC including the chairperson. In case not found, chairperson will invite from other department.

The quorum of minimum three members is essentials then only the meeting can be conduct. The final DPC shall be approved by the Director or his nominee.

The DPC can constitute an internal examiners panel for the evaluation of project report.
