Meggy Huynh Young Authors Story-Outbreak The antique grandfather clock struck twelve as Keko glanced at the window,

seeing the lively view of nightlife Paris, France. She knew her mission had to be done silently and swiftly; one little mistake could cost the whole rogue vampire population to be vanished. Rogue vampires were a scientific accident; they werent supposed to exist, and if they did, they would be quarantined in an insane asylum. Keko was the lucky ones; she had developed her invincible skills quick enough to break out of the laboratory in time. It was impossible to tell the difference between a regular vampire and a rogue vampire; both have paper-white skin, and both have demonic and horrifying red eyes. The only difference is found in the chemicals of their body; rogue vampires possess a rare enzyme that causes them to be unstoppable and make them appear normally human. Slowly, Keko exhaled, then proceeded to leave her old and mangled brick apartment. People around Keko muttered nothing as she passed them, and she said nothing back. All that was on her mind was the flawless image of Paris in its extinction state, without any species alive except for the rogue vampires. She looked up at the midnight sky, realizing that it was more of a dark red color than black. The city lights illuminate the skyline, making the red sky look ominous. It reminded Keko back to the time when the rogue vampire was created, about one hundred years ago. The streets were full with panic and fear, until the authorities of France stated that the vampires were locked away in an asylum, never to be seen again. Kekos goal was to find that asylum, and let them out. Ignoring the sudden change in sky color, she went on. While Keko was roaming France in search of the rogue vampires, they lay in the midst of the country; in the maximum security asylum theyve been dumped there for what

seemed like forever. There was an estimated 15,000 vampires among the rusted cells, each and every single one endeavoring to get out. Little did they know, they were going to be walking out of the asylum that night. Kekos instincts took her to a vacant area in France, where light was nonexistent and all that could be heard was the chilling lifeless wind. There was zero chance a huge building could be standing out in the middle of nowhere. Her first assumption was the insane asylum was underground, and the whole area had been set up with traps, so no one would attempt to break in and sneak out the vampires. Keko kept being silent as usual, and carefully searched the dusty, dark, subzero area for any sight of the asylum and the deathly traps. Within an extremely short period of time, Keko had been able to identify all the traps and the asylums location. The asylum was easy to find; a barbed wire fenced area with nothing inside it, which was only about twenty feet away. The traps had been placed at five feet intervals surrounding the asylum, and they come into effect after three seconds of making contact with them. Most of the traps were nuclear bombs, which Keko thought was absurd because a couple of those would be able to blow the asylum up. She could simply teleport to the asylum without a problem and then after letting the rogue vampires out, shed explode the asylum to pieces. The asylum was fifty feet below the ground, and once Keko appeared there, security guards were already surrounding her. Not moving an inch, she looked at the obese guard in front of her and said calmly, I dont want to do this but She glares into the guards eyes fiercely, and his whole face turned from a chubby round sphere into a thin, twisted mass of baldness. He was dead before he hit the ground.

Surely enough, the rest of the guards ran immediately to the deceased one, leaving Keko more than enough time to unlock all the cells in the asylum and let every rogue vampire out. She knew that the vampires were able to unlock things with their mind, so she moved quickly into the left wing and went up to the first cell. The hushed clamors of vampires subsided as the hollow footsteps approached them. Once they were let out, she instructed them to unlock the other cells and tell the escaped vampires to do the same. The whole asylum was drowned with these destructive creatures, and the guards were nowhere to be seen. They automatically figured what was to be done; to head straight to Paris and wait for Keko there. Keko still had unfinished business to be done. The vampires disappeared, going from the asylum to Paris. Keko stood there quietly, thinking about what she had done. There was a devious smile on her face, and she left the area. It seemed safe and peaceful until the whole place ignited into flames chaotically. One rogue vampire was waiting for Keko at the Eiffel Tower as she arrived. Pierre, She laughed, How was the excruciating wait to get out of that asylum? Completely painful, Pierre replies, The other vampires outside are currently urging the humans to leave Paris, or else they would smash them. Well then, I hope they have patienceus rogue vampires dont want to start a war, dont we? Keko said. A war? Pierre scoffed, They have no chance! Besides, we wish for world peace too. Guess well have to wait and see Keko muttered under her breath, while watching the endless night of vampires continue, anticipating of what will happen next.
