Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what Ive tasted of desire I favor with those who favor fire. But if I had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice. - Robert Frost

Preface
In life there are choices. Those choices can cost you your life or can cause you great success. We all want the best for ourselves. We all want our lives to be perfect. Perfection isnt easy to achieve. People of this world rely on society for them to make our choices in life. I chose to follow society and it almost cost me my life. Life isnt a fairytale. You have two choices live peacefully or die painfully.

1. Moving
Moving day has finally arrived. We are leaving Jacksonville, Florida heading to Port Angeles in Washington State. My dad is an airplane mechanic and his job is making us move around the country a lot. We got to Florida about three years ago and I have gotten really settled. School is always hard to begin fresh without knowing a single soul. My dad got a job at the Boeing company factory in Seattle. He found a nice house in a small city near Seattle, which is Port Angeles. My mother died twelve years ago in a car crash. A drunk driver was on the same street she was and her car slammed right into a tree. She died instantaneously. She died when I was only three years old and I dont have many memories of her. Matt, help me put the boxes in the moving truck! My dad yelled. Yea, okay Im coming. Be their soon! I yelled back.

The Meadow
Life is pretty fun and satisfying in Jacksonville. The weather is amazing and Beautiful beaches to see every morning. My life is perfect for me in Florida. My friends always come over every day, so we can hang out at the beach. Life is very good for me but I am usually home alone because my dad is always working to pay bills. If I were to explain how I look like I would say I am five foot eight. Brunette color of hair. Tan skin tone. Smart, funny, active. I am fifteen years old. I am Spanish. My father is Caucasian and my mother was Spanish. Matt! Where are you?! My dad screamed up the stairs. I am coming! I was just finding my Shoes! I screamed back. It was a lie though. I get down stairs and see my dad putting all of our furniture in the moving truck. We dont say a word when we put everything we own into the truck. The heaviest furniture would be the beds I thought to myself. I looked out at the beach and saw a blue sky with puffy white clouds, the sun, and the ocean with a few waves. Dad are we ever going to come back? I asked a little sad. We might if you want. Come back on vacation. He said softly. Then we got back to work and didnt say a word until it was lunch time. We had a conversation about how the weather would be like in Washington State. I would have to admit I was nervous and sad to be going to Washington State. It started to drizzle while we were eating lunch.

All the furniture was out of the house before 4 P.M. Then my dad and me would go out for one last time to the beach and have fun. We would be sleeping in a hotel for the night because our flight is at 9 A.M. on Southwest. My dad told me would takeoff from Jacksonville and have to head to the west and land in Phoenix, Arizona. After we land in Phoenix we takeoff again to Seattle, Washington. The connection flight is at 1:30 P.M. We have a short connection. Matt, lets go to the beach. We have to leave now. My dad said softly. Yea, okay. That sounds good. I said My dad and I dont talk much and like to keep things to ourselves. Then suddenly an idea pops into my head as I was thinking. Dad! I have to say goodbye to my friends. Okay Matt, tell them to meet us at the beach. He said without expression. Okay let me get my phone. I said without another word. I texted all my friends to go meet me at the beach and I got a few messages immediately. Saying they can or cant. When I got to the beach only 3 of my friends were there and no one else showed up. I got a little sad but they all were doing stuff with family or just getting a haircut. The three friends there are my best friends. They always stick by my side no matter what happens. I hope I get friends like these in Port Angeles I think to myself. My friends and I say hi then go to the beach to talk. My dad said he was going to get something to eat. We all said okay and headed off to the beach.

The Meadow
As I walked we kept trying to make small talk and get away from the realization that I would not be back to see them in a very long time. One foot at a time I reminded myself. I was sad to be leaving because out of all the places I have been to, these were one of my best friends I have had. I always knew there would come the day we will move elsewhere, but for some reason I am not prepared even though I tried to prepare myself for this day. All I think now is that I left my impact on all the people I have seen and interacted with. I cant say I have a million friends because thats not true. I believe the word friend means someone who will always be there no matter what. I have a handful of friends across the country. Of course there will always be a group or a person who hates you instantaneously. Whatever you do annoys them and you can only imagine why. Guys, I will miss you. Cant say I wont. Ill try to come back as soon as possible. Bye. Bye. Matt you know we will miss you too! Bye. We love you. They all screamed/cried. My dad is telling me I have to go. Ill call you guys when we get to the airport. Bye. I leave and head towards my dad and automatically feel the urge to stay and run away. I resist the urge and walk very sad. I wave goodbye to my friends as the car pulls out of the parking lot. We get unto the highway and head towards the airport hotel. I fall asleep in the car and the when I open my eyes again its 3 AM and we are in the hotel.

We are at the gate waiting for the aircraft to appear and every few minutes I hear the loud speaker scream the next flight, on time or delayed, and gate number.
